Revelation 1:7d
7 Behold,[idou] he cometh[erchomai] with[meta] clouds;[nephele] and[kai] every[pas] eye[ophthalmos] shall see[optanomai] him,[autos] and[kai] they also which[hostis] pierced[ekkenteo] him:[autos] and[kai] all[pas] kindreds[phule] of the earth[ge] shall wail[kopto] because[epi] of him.[autos] Even so, [nai] Amen.[amen] KJV-Interlinear
7 Behold, He is coming with the
clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the
tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so.
Amen. NASB
‘Even so.
Amen.’
Even so means, this is the truth. The source of this information is from God,
and God is truth, and cannot lie.
The future holds certain events that will occur,
and there is nothing and no one who can prevent, alter, or change them. Nor can anyone advance the dates of these
events, nor can anyone delay or postpone them.
In heaven, God has a calendar, and the date of when
every believer will believe in Christ, the date of the Rapture, the date of the
Second Advent, the date of everything that has or will occur in history, is already
marked on His calendar.
And as they say, ‘So let it be
written.So let it be
done.’
Kings and leaders, in the past and probably even in
our current time, have arrogantly made this statement, but they have no real control
or power over the events of history.
Only God has that power and sovereignty over
everything in existence.
Amen means, proper, trustworthy, true, with
certainty, and comes to mean simply, ‘Believe it, for it is so.’
These words were written almost 2000 years ago. And as they apply to everyone who has ever
lived, they apply mostly to those folks who will live in the last generation of
our dispensation.Why?
Because it is in the last couple of generations of
our dispensation, that these words will not be believed. As a great apostasy sets in, as people begin
to discount God and doctrine, and all of the ancient prophecies that have not
yet occurred become more and more ignored, people will turn more to their
immediate needs and wants in life.
And with apostasy comes trouble and with trouble comes either a return to God, or an even more separation
away from God and a turning to the philosophies of the world. And our dispensations’ last generation, will see
more and more folks turning away from God, and to the more secular and
socialistic views of the world.
We have already studied how this will bring about
the circumstances for the Rapture and the anti-christ
into power.
And so here are the words of God, presented by
John. They are true.It remains now, for
you to either believe them and realize the need for
your daily commitment to your Bible study, or for you to ignore them and
perhaps become a part of the generation or sequence of generations that will ultimately
bring about the end of human history.
Hummm! Kind of a dramatic statement, but it is actually
true.
Unfortunately most folks won’t see it that
way.And so, the words we are about to
study in the coming weeks, will be made into a reality by those very folks who
do not think much of the Bible, or of the detailed study that we are pursuing. They will be a part of the lip service crowd
(all talk), but no study commitment.
