Psalm 18:34

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

34 He teacheth [lamad] my hands [yad] to war, [milchamah] so that a bow [qesheth] of steel [nachuwshah] is broken [nachath] by mine arms. [zarowa`] KJV-Interlinear

34 He trains my hands for battle, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. NASB

The bow of steel is more properly translated brass or bronze.

The use of ones arms to break something that is generally considered to be unbreakable, means great strength for ones self over the instruments of battle that are used by others.

Now, all doctrine applies to all believers. Whether you are young or old, short or tall, muscular or a weakling, male or female, etc., makes no difference. All doctrine applies to you regardless of who or what you are or are about.

First, this ability is attributed to God, not to you.

Second, this ability comes to you, not through eating protein supplements and doing pushups daily, but through the daily study of Bible doctrine.

Third, this power is a spiritual power, not something of this world.

Fourth, this power comes to you through doctrine, and is used to oppose the mighty (bows of steel) enticements and persuasions, or threats and intimidations, that the world will throw at you.

On your own, you are powerless. The world is far, far greater than you can even begin to imagine.

For one thing, you are living with a sin nature and that alone makes you susceptible and powerless before the world. In sin, you cannot get out of sin, nor rise above it.

But, God and God alone, has designed a mechanism that makes even you powerful, more powerful than anything in this world, especially its enticements, intimidations, threats, and so forth. And that design begins with Bible doctrine and the spiritual life.

It is doctrine that becomes the building material of your soul, and that building material contributes toward the completion of your life, which includes building up the muscle of faith and your resistance from the world.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
