16 And the
twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces
and worshiped God, NASB
The twenty-four elders
were first introduced in Rev. 4:4, and are representative of the Raptured
Church Age believers, who were taken up into heaven at the Rapture. This is from
the perspective of Johns vision of these future events. The Rapture from our
perspective, of course, has not yet occurred.
But it will occur at
some point in the future, and when we are all in heaven, and while the world is
undergoing its massive judgments during that future Tribulation period, we will
be fully aware of the events that are taking place, as they are taking place.
And even though we will already
have our resurrection bodies, and our evaluation before Christ will have been
completed, and we will already have received our eternal rewards, or at least
the formal notice of them, along with our crowns for being a part of the Royal
Family, we will all still give honor and proper respect and worship, to Christ.
Our crowns and honors
and recognitions will be set aside and we will all know and understand the
truth perfectly, and every one of us, will of our own volition, voluntarily kneel
before Christ.
For were it not for
Christ, none of us would even exist. For from dust, He gave humanity the
ability to perpetuate biological life, and from nothing Christ created our
individual human life.
