Jude 1:17-19 17 But [de], beloved [agapetos], remember [mnaomai] ye [humeis] the words [rhema] which [ho] were spoken before [proereo] of [hupo] the apostles [apostolos] of our [hemon] Lord [kurios] Jesus [Iesous] Christ [Christos]; 18 How [hoti] that [hoti] they told [lego] you [humin] there should be [esomai] mockers [empaiktes] in [en] the last [eschatos] time [chronos], who should walk [poreuomai] after [kata] their own [heautou] ungodly [asebeia] lusts [epithumia]. 19 These [houtos] be [eisi] they who separate [apodiorizo] themselves [heautou], sensual [psuchikos], having [echo] not [me] the Spirit [pneuma]. KJV-Interlinear 17 But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, 'In the last time there shall be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.' 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. NASB In this world there are but two types of people. Those who believe in the Savior Jesus Christ, and those who do not. In the believing category there again are but two types of people. Those who are positive toward Bible study and those who are not. Of those who are positive again there are but two types. Those who advance to spiritual maturity and those who do not. The unbelieving world, the negative world, and those who are positive but just do not have it in them to advance all the way to spiritual maturity, all these three are similar in that they allow their sin nature run their lives. These are the categories of peoples who, by allowing their sin nature run their thinking and therefore their lives, are the ones that cause divisions and difficulties in the world. It was true in the time of Cain when he killed Abel. It was true in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah when those cities of the Plain were corrupt to the core. It was true in the time of the Exodus, when a grumbling and unappreciative generation died in the desert. It was true back then and it is true even in our current day. It will be true in the Tribulation, when that last generation of people will be spoiled, corrupt, complaining, malcontents. They will never see the grace of God, but will pursue their own sin natures and that will lead them into the greatest tribulational period of human history. They themselves will be the cause of their own problems. Even today, we can look around and see the discontented peoples, the pot stirrers, the trouble makers, the mockers, those who think very highly of themselves. We can see the nests of corrupt society, the opinionated liberal attitudes, the self righteous conservative attitudes. All of these and more are the very seeds of the pattern of attitude which will lead the whole of humanity to the very brink of total annihilation. Were it not for the grace of God, mankind would have long ago run itself right off the edge of the historical calendar. Ignore the Bible and its principles of life and you will be a part of your own self destruction. Pursue Gods Word and you will be a part of the winning side. And more than that, your winnings will surpass your wildest dreams by a factor of infinity. 2 Peter 3:3-4 3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.' NASB 1 Cor. 2:14 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. NASB James 3:16 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. NASB
