Ascension, Final Instructions
John 21:25

Eccl. 12:11-14
11 The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd. 12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. 13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. This pretty much sums up truth. There is God, and there is mankind, and between the two there is a war raging between God and Satan.

In eternity past Lucifer rebelled against God and has refused to change his mind about God. So God set about to prove once and for all, that following His will is the best course of action that anyone can follow. God is the glue and driving force that holds and sustains the universe. If we try to eliminate God then we eliminate the very underlying fabric which holds everything together - morally, spiritually, physically.

By trying to pretend or by trying to reinvent some other form of god or eliminate the idea of a deity entirely, then we only fool ourselves. God has given us many simple truths to prove to us that we are not the product of an accident, that we do not have the power to totally control our own destiny, that there are many things over which we do not have control - determining the moment of our own birth, preventing death, controlling the circumstances of our existence after death, controlling the weather, gravity, politics, economics, the color of our eyes, and that list can go on forever.

God has given us the heavens above into which we can look and see their vastness. No one even knows how large the universe is anyway. When we invent more powerful telescopes, then we only discover that the universe is bigger than we thought. And to top it all off, where is the edge of the universe anyway? What lies beyond the universe?

God has given us the extremely intricate complexities of the human anatomy, cells, and DNA, the sub-atomic world into which we have just begun to discover its mysteries. God designed and invented them all. Yet mankind will write endless pages on invented philosophies and religions with no evidence or proof supporting them. None of us were here in the beginning when the angels were created. None of us were here when the universe was instantly created out of nothing. None of us were here when Lucifer led a rebellion against God, and then began to systematically destroy the universe because of his own arrogance and over estimation of his own abilities.

We did not witness his trial, his rejection of Gods authority, and the decisions rendered for his judgment. We were not present when the earth was restored in six days, and made ready for humanity. In fact mankind did not know much of anything before a couple of centuries ago. Even in our last century over 99% of all our technology and knowledge was discovered, leaving thousands of years of human history with little discovery accomplishments by comparison.

Through it all we as a human race can not even fill up the world with our total human knowledge in our six thousand years plus of history, while Jesus Christ in just three years did more and taught more, than could be documented, and even if it could all be documented, then the worlds libraries could not hold it all.

Through all of the debates, all of the politics, all of the opinions there is but one truth, you either accept God, his Word, and His plan, or you don't. To come up with whatever alternate compromise, modification or interpretation argument is tantamount to rejecting God. To believe God is to secure for yourself a definite and secure future. To play games with God is to insure loss of blessing in varying degrees for your self.

To reject Gods plan for salvation, 'Believe in Christ,' is to insure the greatest possible loss for yourself forever. The Lake of Fire which we call hell, is a representative description of a total absence of God in ones life. It is total chaos, total misery, total fear, total helplessness, total isolation, total pain and suffering, total gnashing of teeth in total terror with uncontrollable and endless crying forever and ever and ever. And as the Bible describes very clearly, and of which we have studied, then picture yourself inside a coffin, totally infested with grave maggots, and worms crawling throughout your body, in total darkness, you are burning endlessly within a fire which gives off no light but places excruciating and endless pain on you. There is no one to talk to, no one to look to for help. There will be no way out of your predicament. You will be there forever.

Now, why would anyone want that kind of a destiny for themselves? Why would anyone refuse to simply think six little words within their own mind? 'Father, I believe in Jesus Christ.' When all it takes to avoid eternal damnation is to believe in Christ!

Everyone is included in this potential future. There are no exceptions. There is no other alternative to either heaven of hell. No third option.

And again, when you have believed in Christ, then you enjoy the tremendous benefits of living forever in heaven with God. An infinitely better environment than the alternative. But that is not all. God holds us all accountable for our thoughts, motives, decisions, and actions in life. That only seems reasonable. That we should be conducting ourselves in life in a proper and honest manner. However, we all have sin natures and that skews our perceptions and desires in life.

God therefore gives us truth, and by means of that truth we are able to discern between that which is right and that which is wrong. If we pursue a study in Gods Word, then we learn and eventually become wise. If we ignore Gods Word, then we live in darkness and cannot see what is true and what is the lie. This is where all manner of logic, compromise, reason, and convenience of societies standards become distorted and acceptable.
In one generation the female wears full body bathing suits, in another generation the suits become strings. In one generation marriage is between men and women, in another generation it is between the same sexes. In one generation people have rights, in another generation witches are burned at the stake for political expediency. In one generation leaders are statesmen, with only the best interest of their countries at heart, in another generation, politicians will stop at nothing, even hoping for national catastrophes, in order to get elected and seize power and prestige for themselves.

And so the jungle battles are ongoing. The strong, the fierce, the subtle, consume the weak and uninformed. But there is an out and that is through the spiritual life. In God we can all have protection and prosperity, but we have to follow His rules, not ours. That requires a daily commitment to your Bible study. To ignore it you will never be satisfied, though you will pursue forever, happiness and success. However, through Bible doctrine in your soul, then happiness and success will come to you as a gift from God. It will simply fall into your lap.

We can neither earn it nor deserve it, but God gives us all, if only we will see His wisdom and comply with it.

The four gospels are only the tip of the iceberg. There is a vast amount of unseen wisdom to be learned, underneath. Your life in doctrine begins with your awareness of God, then continues when you become aware of His word, then His salvation, and then His truth. Your life in doctrine continues throughout your entire life. It will (or should) never stop.

Just as the universe is vast, so too is your destiny in heaven. You can either secure it for yourself, or you can ignore it. That choice is always yours to make.
