Therefore, since we have died to the law, because of our association with Christ in his death, by means of our faith, then we no longer belong to, and are no longer under the rule of the Mosaic law.
Without Christ, we were married to, and slaves of the Mosaic law, which had only one result for us, which was eternal condemnation and slavery.
But, by means of Christ’s death, and our faith, we not only died, and thereby dissolved our relationship with the law and with sin, but we were raised up again, just as Christ was raised up, to a new life, and to a new marriage.
That marriage of course is to Christ, by means of His grace, and by means of our choice, through faith.
And of course one of the products of our relationship with Christ, is the opportunity to bear new fruit, which is the production of the spiritual life, which is of intrinsic value, which lasts forever.
Under the old marriage, we had nothing.
Under the new marriage, we have everything, and potentially a lot more. That potential, depends on your pursuit of your spiritual life, through spiritual growth, by means of learning Bible doctrine on a daily basis.
