The phrase, ‘day of the Lord,’ carries with it three connotations. All three convey the fury and judgment of God.

The first concept can be applied to the individual. For sooner or later in ones life, especially when the individual has been more or less spiritually negative, then God lowers the boom either to regain their attention for salvation, as in the case of unbelievers, or for doctrinal study and growth, as in the case of believers. Or, the end of their life has been reached and there remain no further options for them in this life.

The second concept applies to groups of people or regions or nations as in severe weather, or cataclysmic disasters, or in major economic downturns such as a depression, or in war.

The third and most common concept is the end of history at the Second Advent when Christ returns and blasts humanity across the world in a single and swift blow, thus ending Satan’s rule, ending mans rule, and otherwise cleaning up the planet making it ready for the Kingdom of God.

In each case, the power of God is evident and irreversible, and devastating beyond imagination.

Unfortunately too many folks do not believe in any of these three concepts, and especially the third, because life around them is more real than God or His judgments.

Even the history or current day activity, what with births, deaths, cemeteries, and churches, even the aging that occurs in ones personal life do not seem to have any impact on the outlook of individuals.

The proud and the lofty includes everyone who rejects God, rejects the Bible, rejects its mandates, believe that their idea of the spiritual life will suffice, or all who just do not care. And that includes a huge percentage of history’s population.

If you have not yet believed in Christ, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you have believed in Christ but do not confess regularly, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you do not abide by Gods mandates, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you do not study daily, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you believe that you know enough and do not require further instruction, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you believe that your ideas are sufficient, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you pick and choose what scriptural principles you will or will not agree to, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you are not dedicated to a daily study, a daily commitment to pursue your spiritual life as defined by God, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you are indifferent, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If you are more concerned with the world, than God, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

If your priorities in life are your social life, your work life, your whatever you do in life, then you are among the proud and the lofty.

And one day, you too will face the finality of His wrath. And the unfortunate things in all of this is, that you will not accept this fate, nor even believe that it is coming, until it is too late.

Study [by instruction],

to show thyself approved [spiritually mature]

unto God,

a workman [student]

that need not be ashamed [ignorant],

rightly dividing [learning, understanding, discerning]

the word of truth [Bible doctrine].

If you can dream and not make dreams your master,

If you can think and not let thoughts narrow your views,

If you can meet triumph with disaster equally,

If you can learn and see your full meaning and purpose in life,

Then you can believe in Christ, learn Bible doctrine, and grow far beyond the potential that God has prepared for you.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.

To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But each person has to decide to make that commitment. No one else can study for you. You have to do that yourself.

Keep in the Word, Isa. 41:10.
