You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
1 To the chief Musician [natsach], A Psalm [mizmowr] of David [David].
I waited [qavah] patiently [qavah] for the LORD [Yahovah]; and he inclined [natah] unto me, and heard [shama`] my cry [shav`ah]. KJV-Interlinear
1 To the Choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. ESV
This is a Psalm of appreciation and blessing by association. The psalmist gives thanks for the many blessings that he has received in the past, and continues his appreciation in his need for God’s continued help.
The psalmist recognizes that blessings that are bestowed upon him, will often times result in blessings for others.
The word for musician, natsach, means to glitter from afar, to be eminent, to be permanent, to be chief over all the choir.
The music by which the choir plays and sings, represents grace, the grace of God, which plays on and on, irregardless of the circumstances of life or history.
The choirmaster, of course is Jesus Christ.
I waited patiently, refers to a continuous and ongoing pattern that the psalmist has adopted for his life, in always waiting for the Lord, no matter what circumstances he encounters in this life.
Waiting patiently, is not a do nothing wait, but represents the consistency and patience of day-to-day study and function, of one spiritual life.
It is not anticipation of wishes come true, or of expected miracle after miracle, but represents the tolerant patience that one must endure in the day-to-day life of this world.
The result of this consistency in the day-to-day study of the word of God, is that God hears, and that God acts accordingly within the framework of Gods plan, which is not necessarily the same as what we might want for ourselves, but is more certainly far better than anything we could do for ourselves.
Our cry, is more than tears and whimpering, it is the day-to-day pattern, the moment by moment pattern, of our thought process, and actions, within the framework of our spiritual life.
All spiritual activity, whether in prayer, whether in our day-to-day study, whether in our day-to-day life while in fellowship, is our cry and worship of God through Christ.
Study [by instruction],
to show thyself approved [spiritually mature]
unto God,
a workman [student]
that need not be ashamed [ignorant],
rightly dividing [learning, understanding, discerning]
the word of truth [Bible doctrine].
These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.
And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever. To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.
The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.
But you have to decide to make that commitment. No one else can study for you. You have to do that yourself.
