You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
17 For the arms [z@rowa`] of the
wicked [rasha`] shall be broken [shabar]: but the LORD [Y@hovah]

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholds
the righteous. ESV
Different parts of the body are used to describe different activities in ones life. For example the feet describe your walk or path in life. Your hands describe your busy little activities. The arms, as used here, describe ones purpose or plans or intentions in life.
And the purposes of the wicked, will never succeed.
Remember that the wicked does not describe only the criminals or social outcasts of life, but includes nearly everyone at one time or another in life.
Anyone who functions outside of Gods will, is in the category of the wicked.
So, if you do not pursue your daily studies, do not confess your sins regularly, do not comply with Gods mandates, which by the way are very easy to comply with, then you are a wicked person.
The obvious wicked people, the bad politicians, or the little hitlers, or those who lie and cheat and deceive, or the followers of bad religions and such, are all going to fail in their pursuits.
But too, those who are otherwise decent people, but they simply do not pursue Gods plan for their life, or better yet, do not seek to find out what Gods plan is for them, or they are simply indifferent, or they firmly believe that they are in compliance, even though they do not follow Gods spiritual process, then they too, are wicked, and they too, will fail in their life.
The righteous, includes only believers who are proactive in their pursuit of their spiritual life, as God has designed and defined it.
The righteous includes all believers, from the standpoint of salvation. But there is more to righteousness than just being saved. You have to grow up and develop within your spiritual life.
When a baby is born, it has not lived up to and accomplished its full potential and purpose in life.
Likewise, when a person believes in Christ, from that very first moment, they are spiritual infants. They have to grow up. They have to learn. They have to develop within their spiritual life. And that cannot be done on ones own.
Sincerity does not get you there. Good intentions do not get you there.
Tradition does not get you there. Pretending or trying to do things your way, do not get you there.
Only when a person knuckles down and learns, through instruction, will advance in their spiritual life.
And it is that person who is the completed righteous, and they are the ultimate recipients of Gods phenomenal blessings.
