You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
14 Depart [cuwr] from evil [ra`], and do [`asah] good [towb]; seek [baqash] peace [shalowm], and pursue [radaph] it. KJV-Interlinear
14 Turn
away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. ESV
The only way to avoid evil, is to pursue good with a relentless desire, and that is not an easy thing to do, because evil has so many distractions and room for compromise and excuses that ones relentless desire of good can easily be derailed and turned off course, especially when you believe that you do not need to be taught anything.
Evil is anything that is against God or truth, including ones failure to function within the spiritual life. Good is anything that occurs from within the fellowship sphere. You have to know these things before you can adjust to them.
Seek and pursue, are the commands of God, to each and every believer in Christ.
You have to recognize the value of something before you typically will want it.
You have to want something before you will pursue it
You have to want something really bad before your pursuit will continue without wavering.
And most important, you have to be taught in order to learn the difference between good and evil.
For without an inner desire to learn, then your spiritual life will go nowhere.
Peace is the objective of the spiritual life. It is spiritual maturity, which is the result of Bible doctrine in the soul, developing an inner structure of the spiritual life within your soul, resulting in inner happiness and peace and contentment regardless of ones circumstances.
