2 I will
be glad [samach] and rejoice [`alats] in
thee: I will sing praise [zamar] to thy name, [shem] O thou most High. ['elyown]
KJV-Interlinear
2 I will be
glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Most High. NASB
Praise for the whole heart, which is the soul, means the content of the soul must contain doctrine.
And from that content comes gladness or the state of happiness on the inside.
That state of happiness on the inner soul brings forth an external state or the manifestation of happiness in the form of song, 'sing praise.'
'Zamar,' means to be happy in song, the tapping of the fingers, thumping of the foot, to a tune or to the beat of music as a result of a happy state.
The object of this happiness is the name, or the reputation of God, which is known only from the learning of doctrine, which causes the state of happiness in the first place.
Most High, is a reference to the highest possible person in position, power, authority, sovereignty, in the universe and beyond. This is Jesus Christ, the second person of the trinity, the Savior as spelled out in Psalm 7, Jehovah.
It is Jesus Christ who is the object of all praise and worship, and the source of all provision in life.
Jesus Christ is the living word. Bible doctrine is the written word. Both are one and the same.
By learning doctrine, you bring the life of Christ into your own life, which produces inner happiness which overflows to your whole physical existence manifesting itself in an overt joy.
