You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
8 The
fishers [dayag] also shall mourn ['anah],
and all they that cast [shalak] angle [chakkah] into the brooks [ya`or]
shall lament ['abal], and they that spread [paras] nets [mikmereth] upon [paniym] the waters [mayim] shall
languish ['amal]. KJV-Interlinear
8 And the
fishermen will lament, And all those who cast a line into the Nile will mourn, And
those who spread nets on the waters will pine away. NASB
As we have already seen, the farming and agriculture activities along the Nile will be shut down. But also, the fishing industry will cease to exist as well.
From the individual fisherman or sportsman who casts a line, to the larger fishing businesses that cast nets, the fishing activities, even extending to the processing and canning plants and transportation and retail outlets, all will feel the impact of a no fish harvest.
Enhanced by our study in Rev. 18, this passage demonstrates how business not only in Egypt, but around the entire world, will collapse.
And what do the people do? They sob over their lost business.
No one looks to God. No one prays for help. No one even considers a spiritual solution.
No one looks around at the entire world and questions as to why the whole planet is collapsing around them. They think only of themselves, and of their own losses.
And why should we wonder why those future folks never think about God or eternity and such, when even in our current day, people are more or less the same?
