14 Your
new moons [chodesh] and your appointed feasts [mow`ed] my soul [nephesh] hateth: [sane'] they are a trouble [torach]
unto me; I am weary [la'ah] to bear [nasa'] them. KJV-Interlinear
14 "I
hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a
burden to Me. I am weary of bearing them. NASB
The Israelites had several regularly scheduled offerings to God.
The new moon feasts took place normally at the beginning of each month, Num 10:10; 28:11-14. Regularly scheduled weekly offerings, Sabbaths, took place each Saturday, Lev 23:3.
And throughout the year there were several scheduled feasts such as the Feast of Tabernacles, Lev 16:31; 23:34,39, Passover, Lev 23:4-7, the Feast of Weeks, Lev 23:15-21, the Feast of Trumpets, Lev 23:24, the Day of Atonement, Lev 23:26-27.
All of these assemblies were intended to be teaching aids for learning doctrine, for learning of God, salvation, sin, the spiritual life, maturity, confession and so forth.
All theological assemblies have but one priority, and that is for the instruction of truth resulting in spiritual growth.
When these assemblies become preoccupied with social gatherings, music events, political or social expediencies, then their intended purpose is lost and they become evil.
With no spiritual value, then they become hypocritical assemblies using God as a front, and self promotion, approbation, lust, or ego as their primary objective.
When truth is made an object of indifference then God rejects all of mans efforts and prayer petitions.
When God hates, means that His policy of truth, rejects all evil efforts.
Trouble means that the efforts become a burden, not on God, but on man. Rejection of truth piles up the weight of evil on mans life and legacy.
To become weary, is the result of the burden of carrying the load of heavier and heavier evil within ones life.
All rejection of truth, whether by means of apathy, indifference, or invented beliefs, is evil. And the weight of evil is a burden that builds up a weariness to the point of fainting due to self imposed spiritual strangulation and exhaustion.
