Romans 2:5

5 But [de] after [kata] thy [sou] hardness [sklerotes] and [kai] impenitent [ametanoetos] heart [kardia] treasurest
up [thesaurizo] unto thyself [seautou] wrath [orge] against [en] the day [hemera] of wrath [orge] and [kai] revelation [apokalupsis] of the righteous judgment [dikaiokrisia] of God [theos]; KJV-Interlinear
5 But
because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself
on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. ESV
The hardened heart represents the stubbornness and stiff necked attitude of refusing to change oneself.
But even in stubbornness you still earn treasure. The treasure however is not of good things, but of bad.
And in addition, we have stated here the certainty that Gods judgment will come to you personally, just as it comes along to all of humanity throughout history and certainly will come at the end of history.
As to history, we all know of many examples of judgment from the Bible, but also from the history books.
We all certainly know of disasters that have struck people we know as well as people that we do not know. The news is filled with problems throughout society, everywhere.
So, there should not be any surprise when disaster and problems enter into our own personal life.
You only have to look at yourself and see your own life and the possibility that you are in deep spiritual trouble. And, if you are having problems, then is it not from your own spiritual failure?
The world is the devils world and it is filled with trouble.
Our lives can be filed with trouble simply because it is the devils world, but also, if we are negligent in our spiritual obligations, then we only add more trouble to ourselves.
Isn’t it better to be in trouble, but in Gods will, and thus blessed by those troubles, more so than being out of Gods will, and then forced to face not only the corrupt world but additional trouble from our own spiritual dysfunction? That is a double whammy, so to speak.
But even worse, you can have problems from the devils world, problems from your own stubbornness, and then troubles that backfire on you, from your judging of others through bitterness, complaining, or otherwise harsh and/or self-righteous attitude. That is a triple whammy.
And who wants that kind of trouble?
Only the stubborn. And stubbornness is not worth it. You cannot win, ever.
And the unfortunate thing is, that the stubborn person knows it, but refuses to change, so it is therefore deserved, in spite of their complaints.
And who can solve all of this? You!
