The sheer magnitude of the new Jerusalem wall should be impressive enough. The great wall of China is about 4500 miles long, 7200 kilometers, is 15 to 30 feet high and 15 to 30 feet wide, 4 ½ to 9 meters.
The wall of the new city of Jerusalem is at least 6000 miles in total length, 9650 kilometers, and 72 yards in height, 68 meters, which is 216 feet high, and probably the same in width.
So you could put 50 of the China walls inside of the Jerusalem wall (it is taller and deeper) and still have lots of room left over. The Jerusalem wall is seven times wider and seven times taller, and a third longer.
Of all of the wonders of the world, this new Jerusalem will be in a class of its own.
Not only that, but the Jerusalem wall is made not of stone and dirt and wood, but of solid diamond. And this diamond is of the highest quality, clarity, and perfect in every way.
The light which emanates from the city, is reflected and refracted into all of the colors of the rainbow, which leads us to the foundation stones.
The city is made of pure gold.
What is the most gold you have ever seen in your life? Probably the gold on a ring or some piece of jewelry, and certainly you have seen movies and pictures that portray gold bars and such things. But this city remember measures 1500 miles in all directions, and that is all gold. No steel, no wood, no rock for construction material, but gold alone.
The gold is literal, but it also portrays the beauty, and vast wealth, the purity and clarity and perfection of the city, and of life. A city always represents and reflects the lives of its occupants, and believers are the occupants and citizens of this city.
There will be no corruption, no crime, no sin of any sort within this city, nor anywhere else in this new universe. And the wealth of the new universe will be beyond comprehension. Not to mention that this single city will be about three-fourths the size of our moon. Is that not something that should stagger the imagination?
Or, what would you think is necessary to impress folks, if not this.
