3 And[kai] the second[deuteros] angel[aggelos] poured out[ekcheo] his[autos] vial[phiale] upon[eis] the sea;[thalassa] and[kai] it became[ginomai] as[hos] the blood[haima] of a dead[nekros] man: and
[kai] every[pas] living[zao] soul[psuche] died[apothnesko] in[en] the sea.[thalassa] KJV-Interlinear
3 And the
second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of
a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. NASB
With the second bowl judgment we combine the two words, 'poured,' and 'became,' to understand that this judgment happens rather quickly, and not over a long period of time.
Some view this as the pollution of the oceans over the course of decades of abuse and poor practices by polluting sources. But such is not the case in this matter.
The bowl judgment is poured out, as one dumps the contents of a container. The result, is a quick pollution of the oceans. This is not something that humanity can or will do, but most likely an opening up of various chemicals, oil, gases and such from the sea floor, earthquakes, volcanoes and such, will be the cause of the death of the oceans.
Not that the oceans are not already filled with junk, but remember that last year, that huge oil spill in the gulf virtually disappeared in just a few months. The oceans have a remarkable way of cleaning themselves up given time.
This judgment however, will be an overwhelming one, which the oceans will not be able to clean up themselves. And they will be virtually empty of life until Christ cleans them up and refills them with life, after the Second Advent, as a part of the restoration of the world for the Millennium.
The blood of a dead man, means thick, dark, coagulated and useless. The waters of the world, which contribute to the life and function of the planet, will become lifeless and useless. Needless to say this will be a worldwide phenomenon. Jobs and industry will cease to exist, providing even more economic pressure on an already stressed to the max, world.
With dead seas, and putrid sores covering every living person, perhaps ninety-nine percent of the worlds population (except believers), then life will certainly qualify as miserable, to say the least.
The question is, 'Will anyone figure out that their life and attitude might just have something to do with how bad things are?'
Jesus Christ controls history. Neither man nor fate control history.
As goes mans attitude toward Christ and doctrine, so goes mans life and the various problems of the world.
Great interest in doctrine, brings great blessing. Disinterest in doctrine, brings great cursing. But then, that might be too complicated a thought for most to figure out.
