11 saying, "Write in a book
what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and
to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to
Laodicea." NASB
Jesus Christ is the spokesman. Jesus Christ is the sum total of what life
is, and of what life is all about. He is
omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutable, veracity, righteousness,
justice, love, sovereignty, eternal life.
These are the ten components of Gods essence. God is the complete of completion. There is nothing more that can be added to
God, and nothing can ever be taken away.
Jesus Christ is the only origin of all good things, and the only completion
and destiny of all good things.
Jesus Christ is rejected by all world religions, by
all world philosophies, by all world cults, by all world beliefs that reject
Christianity.
When Jesus Christ speaks, being God and the sum
total of all that is, then each person, you would think, should sit up and take
notice, pay attention and listen.But
man in arrogance presumes far more then he knows in life and ultimately chooses
empty opinions rather than truth.
Jesus Christ commands John to write all that he is
going to see and hear, with but one exception.
This is the first of eleven commands to write, Rev.
1:19; 2:1, 8, 12, 18; 3:1, 7, 14; 14:13; 19:9; 21:5, and then there is one
command to not write, Rev. 10:4, which refers to the thunders of chapter 10. Only during the actual Tribulation period, will
people then understand to what the thunders refer. You and I are never really going to know,
apart from guessing, of course.
John is commanded to write in a book, and then send
the written material to all of the seven churches then located in Asia Minor, what
is now current day Turkey.John is
commanded to write, ‘grapho,’ for the purpose of providing
access to the written information included herein, to all others. After this book is written, there would be no
further communications from God, until the Rapture.
There are far more churches than seven, however the
number seven refers to a completeness of the circulation effort, which will
eventually result in providing this information to all believers worldwide.
The Book of Revelation of addressed to believers in
Christ.It is not addressed to
unbelievers, or those who continue to reject Christ. They would reject the content of the book anyway.
The material located herein, will cover believer
attitude during our current Church Age, will cover the Rapture, and then the
Tribulation.There is a bit of
revelation concerning the Millennium and the next universe.
As for believers of our dispensation, we are to be informed
because we will then know, that Christ’s plan is
continuing and certain. So that we can
know that certain trends of history will occur, keeping us informed as to the
advancement of Gods plan.
As for believers of the Tribulation, they will have
started out as unbelievers, missing out on the greatest event of history (the
Rapture), but now must survive the worst period of history, and so God will
give them a road map for survival. Most will
not follow the instructions contained therein.
The seven churches are, Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira,
Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea. This circulation trip would take a messenger
from the island where John was, to Ephesus and then clockwise to each of the succeeding
cities, along established trade routes.
From there, the written book would go out to the rest of the world.
This is the last communication from God to humanity
by way of dreams, visions, or any other method.
It is in written form so that all generations after John, would have it,
for their own personal edification and growth.
And just as Jesus Christ is the completion of all
that is, then so too, this communication of written material will be the
completion of all that God means for us to have (the Bible), and sufficient to
carry us through life and adequate for bringing each believer to the fullness
of their own personal life.
