1 Thessalonians 5:16
16 Rejoice [chairo] evermore. [pantote] KJV-Interlinear
16 Rejoice always; NASB
Rejoice, means to be grateful,
to be thankful, to be appreciative, to be happy.
After all, you were
once nothing and then God created you into existence from nothing.
For a short while, you
have to endure this world. But that can
be turned into a positive thing, as it teaches you, and prepares you, and
builds up your character.
God brought you into
this life for the purpose of living in heaven with Him, for all of
eternity. And as the angels can navigate
this universe and between heaven and earth, so too, one day, you will possess
even greater abilities than they.
With spiritual growth
to maturity, your future will be beyond your comprehension and beyond your
imagination.Just ponder that thought
for a moment.
God has taken you from
nothing, literally, to be united with Him as an heir to the universe. And better than that, as an heir to the new
united heaven and universe.An
environment that will be even more perfect than the original creation of our
current universe.Even more perfect than
the Garden of Eden.
The source of your good
fortune is Jesus Christ.Unfortunately
most folks do not recognize that they even have a good fortune to look forward
to, even though they have many real time examples in this life for comparison.
On the one hand, there
exists absolute poverty and misery in this world. That represents a life without doctrine. And on the other hand, there are examples of
phenomenal wealth and beauty and talent.
That represents a life with doctrine in spiritual maturity.
You, who were once
nothing, have the opportunity to become mind-boggling wealthy and a great deal
more. And all you have to do for it is
grow up in your spiritual life. That
requires very little effort, but a great deal of faith, on your part. You have in effect, a spiritual lottery
ticket. All you have to do is fill in
your name. But most folks won t even do
that.
You have a great deal,
to justify great rejoicing.Learn of it,
understand it, and grow to possess it, and appreciate it. Your other option is to lose it all.
