Relevant verses
regarding the Rapture, have been posted to the
Notebook, and at the end of this study.
Those believers who are alive at the moment of the Rapture, will not
precede those Church Age believers who are already deceased.
Paul states here, by the
word of the Lord, which is a reference to the several revelations that he
personally received from the Lord.
There are no accounts
or references in the Old Testament, regarding the Rapture. It was a hidden doctrine, as was the entirety
of the dispensation of the Church Age.
And since the New Testament did not yet exist, there were only the
comments that Jesus Himself had made, and those which Paul had yet to write.
At the end of John, he
wrote that the things which Jesus said and did, were
not recorded in the scriptures, and if they had been recorded, it would take a vast
library of books to record them all.So
the Apostles had access to far more doctrine and information than anyone else
in history.
But Paul himself, received several revelations from Christ, long
after the Cross, and it was to these revelations, that he is referring, 1 Cor.
11:23, Gal. 1:11-12.
But even in the
information he received from Christ, Paul was not given the exact date of the
Rapture, even though he was under the impression that it was imminent. And even if it were imminent way back then,
folks were not to bet their entire livelihood on its occurring during their
lifetime.
Obviously back then, it
did not occur. It has not occurred even
yet.And by hindsight we know that we
are much closer than they were, but we still have the principle of imminence,
as well as lacking the knowledge of the exact date.
By being alive now in
this latter period in history, does not make us or give us any better rights
than those who lived centuries ago.
You often hear teens
say, Well, this is the twenty-first century, ya
know. As though this
date in history has some superior significance. Technology does not make us better than those
who did not have it.And certainly our
latter date has not improved the nature of humanity, either.
We may know, or think
we know, more about the widgets of the universe, but even that does not help
anyone in their spiritual life, unless they recognize or acknowledge Gods work
in it all.
And in fact, our
advanced knowledge of the universe and such, should
make us even more driven to our spiritual life.
But, most folks simply do not make that connection either.
God has granted the
deceased believers of this dispensation, the privilege of rising first, and accompanying
Him in His return, at the Rapture. Then we
who are alive, whom ever that generation may be, will
be resurrected.

3 Let no one in any way

restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
8 And then that lawless
one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the
breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
9 that is, the one
whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs
and false wonders,
10
and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did
not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
