You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Proverbs 14:33
33 Wisdom [chokmah] resteth [nuwach] in the heart [leb] of him that hath understanding [biyn]: but that which is in the midst [qereb] of fools [kaciyl] is made known [yada]. KJV-Interlinear 33 Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, But in the bosom of fools it is made known. NASB
There are but two types of people in this world - the wise and the fool. Which are you?
Those who want to be wise in its truest sense, will pursue the only source of wisdom - God. Those who want to be wise in their own eyes, wise by their own definition, will ignore the only source of wisdom - God.
Even in the middle of a world full of fools, wisdom can make itself known to all. Some will see it for what it is and accept it. Some will see it for what it is and reject it.
Fools are those who give lip service (as a phony front to others) to God, but do not really intend pursuing any knowledge of Him.
Fools are those who reject outright, all that God is and all He represents.
Fools are those who reject the view point of the Bible.
Fools are those who see and even understand Gods principles of life, but will modify those divine principles to their own liking.
Fools are those who are indifferent toward God.
Fools are those who pursue some alternate (other than the Bible) form of spirituality.
Fools are those who could hear the Word of God, but do not accept it into nor make it a part of their daily life.
Fools are those who pursue some other form of religion.
Fools are those who pursue some other form of philosophy.
Fools are those who reject Gods establishment principles.
Fools are those who try to deceive others.
Fools are those who try to take advantage of others.
Fools are those who elevate themselves above others.
Fools are those who think they have a better idea than God.
Fools are those who pick and choose which Biblical principles they will observe and which they will ignore.
Fools are those who pursue self defined or society defined compromises to Gods principles.
Fools are those who think they know better.
Fools are those who just don't care.
Fools are arrogant.
I presume that I have left something out, but you get the idea. Fools do not advance in their legitimate spiritual lives. They probably do not recognize it as such.
Despite an entire world filled with negative people (fools), Gods word marches on and is made known, making the fools ... well ... fools.
The heart represents the circulation of thought and content within the soul. The heart is a the pump and it has to pump something. In the positive believer who is advancing in his spiritual life, then that something is Bible doctrine which is constantly being circulated throughout the thoughts of the individual.
The advancing believer studies doctrine, thinks doctrine, ponders what he is studying, considers it, learns it, applies it to his daily life and so forth.
The negative person may study doctrine from time to time (if at all), may even study everyday, but they read it and then forget it. They never put it to use in their daily lives and therefore they never grow up spiritually.
God is the mightiest individual in existence. He created everything that exists. One would think that God would be a good source to learn from.
But unfortunately many people while looking for truth in their lives, never see it when it is right in front of them. They are looking for a genie instead, or something magical, or a miracle, or just something which will make their temporal life a little better, or even different for the better. Are people of today any different than the people who followed Jesus nearly 2000 years ago?
They just wanted their ailments healed. They would sit through a lecture if necessary, but in general the crowds were more impressed with the miracles and the idea that God could do something for them - today.
People today want to be entertained, or they want to read some drama or something exciting. They want to be impressed so they can have an emotional high - for a while. But emotions are not spiritual growth. Sitting through a daily Bible study is not the typical idea of excitement.
You entire life, your entire future are dependent, totally, on how you respond or react to God and your daily study. That boring day to day reading and studying, that unexciting and uneventful study and memorizing of verses, that activity which most will ridicule you for.
And the world will lure you away from that. After all you should be out there socializing, rubbing elbows with those who are in the main stream of life, advancing in your education or career, getting better ideas on how to get ahead, having fun, taking up a hobby, resting, doing things, going places, meeting people.
And then you die ........... Then what?
What is circulating in your soul? What have you done to advance your spiritual life today? What is your excuse?
There are but two types of people in this world - the wise and the fool. Which are you?
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
