Zech. 14:8
8 And it
shall be in that day [yowm], that living [chay] waters [mayim] shall go out [yatsa'] from Jerusalem [Yaruwshalaim]; half [chetsiy] of them
toward the former [qadmowniy] sea [yam], and half [chetsiy] of them
toward the hinder ['acharown] sea [yam]: in summer [qayits] and in
winter [choreph] shall it be. KJV-Interlinear
8 And it will come about in that day that living waters will
flow out of Jerusalem,
half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea;
it will be in summer as well as in winter.
NASB
Yesterday
we saw that one of the changes that will occur immediately following Christ s
Second Advent return, is the change in the day/night schedule, neither day nor
night.
Expanding
that phrase which really means that all of the contrasts, which have symbolized
the differences between good and evil, will also change. That is, neither hot nor cold, neither dark
nor light, neither truth nor lies.
All
of the contrasts will be gone. Evil will
be gone. No more nighttime will
exist. No more evil influences from
Satan.
What
will exist, will be the soft and gentle light, which will not emanate from the
sun, and the night stars and moon, but Christ Himself will be the source of all
light which will cover continuously, the entire planet.
A
huge spring, will erupt up, from out of the ground in Jerusalem, and it will flow like a large
river. Half of the water will flow to
the east, to the front, toward the Dead Sea, and half will flow to the west, to
the hinder side, to the Mediterranean Sea.
These
waters will flow year round. They will
not dry up in the summer or fall, they will not rush and swell with the spring
rains, and they will not freeze up in the dead of winter. Because there will no longer be the seasons
of the year.
You
recall that a couple of lessons ago, we left the remnant of Jerusalem, running for their lives down a valley,
which was opened up by Christ. That
valley ran from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea. It is
now full of water.
Now
we have a giant flow of water, a river large enough to carry ocean-going
vessels, coming from Jerusalem,
and flowing in both directions, both east and west. Jerusalem
will become a seaport in the Millennium.
When
the heat of battle was on, when Satan had in his mind to kill everyone so that
Christ would have no one to deliver, then, just as in the days of the exodus
when Pharaoh chased after the Israelites, so too, we can presume that the
forces of evil will be giving chase after the folks escaping from Jerusalem.
Though
nothing specifically is mentioned, we can put together the missing parts of the
puzzle. The Remnant will be running
through the valley. The enemy forces
will be giving chase. At some point, Christ will direct the remnant to some
safe exit from the valley, to higher ground, and then the waters of judgment,
if you will, will erupt out of the ground simultaneously with another
earthquake. That second earthquake will
open up another valley to the west this time, from Jerusalem
to the Mediterranean Sea.
All
who are caught in the valley, will either be crushed by the earthquake, or
carried away to their deaths by the rushing water.
The
enemies of God will all die. Many will
die at the hand of the many natural catastrophes, many will die from fighting
amongst themselves, and finally many, the last of all the evil forces, will die
by the direct command of Christ Himself.
In
the final moments of the Tribulation, when all light is removed from planet
earth, that is the symbol of the total and final exclusion of truth, from the
lives of all of the evil people of the world.
In those final weeks, days and hours, we can assume that there will be
some, who will turn to God and Christ, and gain their salvation.
But,
just as in the flood of Noah, and likewise we speculate at the time of the
Rapture, there will come a time when there will be no more believers. That the time will come when, for the sake of
those who have believed, a change must take place in order to preserve the saved.
In
Noah s time, it was the flood. In our
dispensation, it will be the Rapture. In
the future Tribulation, it will be the Second Advent. These three events separate permanently those
who have believed from the rest of an unbelieving world.
In
Noah s day, there was no further chance for salvation for those who refused to
get onto the ark. In the time of the
Rapture, there will be a second chance for those who just need a kick in the
pants, in order to get them to change their minds about Christ. At the Second Advent, total darkness will
seal off the doom for those who refuse to believe in Christ, and their judgment
will come immediately following that darkness.
The
soft light of Christ will emanate thereafter throughout the Millennium, and
forever into eternity.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
