You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Zech. 13:1
1 In that
day [yowm] there shall be a fountain [maqowr] opened [pathach] to the
house [bayith] of David [David] and to the inhabitants [yashab] of Jerusalem
[Yaruwshalaim] for sin [chatta'ah] and for uncleanness [niddah]. KJV-Interlinear
1 In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of
David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
for sin and for impurity. NASB
In
that day, the day of great mourning, the day of great violence, the day at the
end of human history and immediately preceding the Second Advent.
In
that day, when Jerusalem and Judah are
surrounded and overrun, and on the verge of being wiped off of the face of the
planet.
In
that day, when the world has experienced nearly seven consecutive years of
phenomenal disasters. Disasters, that have
taken the lives of well over half of the population of the world.
In
that day, when diseases and crime and violence and government sponsored
prejudices have far exceeded anything like them in all of human history.
In
that day, when life has become virtually intolerable for every living thing.
Then,
a very few people will turn to God and they will wait, through one of the worst
battles, and periods of violence in all of history. They will wait on God and pray, and they will
confess their sins as never before.
That
is the fountain, which will open up for those very few, who will turn their
entire lives over to God, in faith.
What
is on the line is extremely important.
We have already studied the concept of the loss of the first-born. We have already studied the threat of
arrogance and the presumption of ones deliverance. We have already studied the overwhelmingly
poor odds, against which these people have to face, for their lives.
As
so few people in history have come to recognize, these people, the defenders of
Jerusalem and Judah, and I might add, others in
the world who will place their lives in Gods hands, for God will bring people
from every nation, into the Millennium.
But, our lesson comes from Jerusalem. These people will realize the magnitude of
truth, reality, and just what is on the line.
They
can either lose their lives, and perhaps go on to heaven as failures in
Christ. And, because these people are
believers, then none of them will go to the Lake of Fire.
Or,
they can stick with their faith, even in the face of almost certain death, as
Daniel did in the lions den, and then enjoy victory in their spiritual life,
regardless of whether God delivers them alive, or takes them in death.
What
is on the line for them? The very same
thing that is on the line for each one of us.
Our future in Christ, and our future in heaven in eternity.
What
will we find in heaven? Well if we
finally take all of this Bible stuff seriously, and advance in our spiritual
lives, then we will find rewards, blessings, privileges, honors and much, much
more waiting for us at the Judgment Seat of Christ. These blessings will be with us forever, and
forever is a very long time.
If
however, we can t seem to get with a Bible study program, if we just do not
seen to find all of this Bible stuff real and convincing, then our
indifference, our looking to the things of this world as a substitute for what
God offers, will lead us to loss of all of these wonderful and beyond
imagination, blessings. Certainly, we
will be in heaven, but the infinite extra blessings will not be there for
us. We will lose our share of the
inheritance. We will lose our good name. We will lose our legacy.
What
have we been studying lately?
Those
folks, defending Jerusalem,
will see very clearly, all of what God has to offer. The fountain of the intensity of their faith
will open wide and faith will flow heavenward as never before in history.
For
sin and for impurity, means that they will be separated from all sins, and all
impurities, or human good concepts. Sins
are one thing, but there is also the good deed side of the human attitude, or
human good. Neither of these are a part
of Gods plan. Neither, will be allowed
into Gods kingdom.
Those
folks will have their heads on straight.
They will have clear thinking.
They will so fear, the loss of the many things that God can withhold
from them, more so than they will fear the surrounding armies, or the loss of whatever
earthly things they might have, that they will confess and confess again, just
to make sure they got it right the first time.
They will read their scriptures.
They will repeat in their own minds the scriptures that they have
memorized.
Father
I have sinned doing this and that.
Cast
all of your cares on Him.
The
Lord is my shepherd.
Praise
the Lord and pass the ammo. Bang,
bang. Duck and move, and repeat it all
over again.
Father
I have sinned doing this and that.
Cast
all of your cares on Him.
And
so it goes.
This
intensity of faith will keep them in fellowship, and therefore before the eyes
of God. God is faithful to those who are
obedient to Him.
Now,
the people defending Jerusalem
don t have much in the way of choices.
They will be under intense pressure, which to some extent is their own
fault. They refused to believe in Christ
many years prior, and therefore were left behind at the Rapture. But despite the pressure, they will still
succeed in their spiritual lives.
Bad
decisions being about misery and limit ones options in life. Good decisions provide more options in life.
You
are not likely to find yourself surrounded by enemy soldiers, but you can
certainly find yourself surrounded by economic pressures, social pressures,
family pressures, medical pressures, and so forth. How are you, going to deal with them? Will your life ever be as difficult as
theirs?
With
intense faith, flows intense blessing.
If your faith is genuine, then you will sooner or later, see positive
results in your life.
If
your commitment to God is more or less indifferent, if you don t take all of
this Bible stuff serious, if you would rather look to excuses, or complain your
way through life, then you can certainly expect more of the same misery or
empty life that you have already had.
God
can do many things with you. He can make
life very easy for you, or He can purge your metal and keep on purging it,
making you into something phenomenal.
You have only to get with a daily study program and stick with it. Then you will see where God is going to take
you.
When
you are surrounded with trouble, then it is very easy to whine, complain, let
go and give up. Then of course you will lose
out in life.
But,
if you hold on, regardless of the outcome of your troubles, as did Daniel and
the lions, then you may be delivered from the lions or you may not, but that
result is not what is important. Your
faith in Gods best judgment for you, is what is important. And your spiritual victory, will carry you
into the remaining years of your life, however few or many they might be, and
certainly into eternity.
Place
no value in the things of this world and, they will not become more important
to you than God. Place greater value in
Gods promises, because they are certain, phenomenal, and they will last forever.
Such
is the nature of the pouring out of the fountain of faith and blessing.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
