You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Zech. 12:9
9 And it
shall come to pass in that day [yowm], that I will seek [baqash] to destroy [shamad] all the
nations [gowy] that come [bow'] against Jerusalem
[Yaruwshalaim]. KJV-Interlinear
9 And it will come about in that day that I will set about
to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. NASB
If
you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you are in His good safe hands. The flesh does not determine those who belong
to God. That is, His children are not
exclusively the descendents of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But Gods children include anyone who
believes in His only Son and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rom.
9:8
8
That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the
children of the promise are regarded as descendants. NASB
Though
there exists in history, a geographical Israel and city of Jerusalem, and
genetic descendents of Abraham, those folks are only a part of, and a teaching
symbol of, Gods promise to humanity.
Prophecy
often times has a dual application. When
the Bible refers to Israel
or Jerusalem, it might refer only to the
geographical region, or it might refer to the descendents of Jacob, whose name
was later changed to Israel,
or it might refer to all believers who, by their faith in Christ are, by
default, members of or citizens of, the spiritual nation of Israel.
In
that respect, you as a believer in Christ are a citizen of the spiritual nation
of Israel. Gods chosen nation. A nation is merely a collection of peoples
who have a common citizenship in that specified boundary, which defines the
nation. Our spiritual nation is not
geographical, but a spiritual one. Our present
home is said to be in heaven, but in eternity, we will inherit the entire
universe, so by default the new universe to come, will be our nation.
Being
a member of Gods nation, we possess His wonderful protection from all
adversaries. Those of us who squabble
amongst ourselves will receive discipline, as God deems appropriate, but for
those who are not members of our nation, and that includes all unbelievers,
then there is certain judgment.
That
terrorist, Zarqawi dude, who got nailed by a couple of bombs the other day, is
a perfect example of the application of Gods judgment justice. When it comes, it is swift, it is certain,
and it is complete.
For
a little while, he was allowed to run wild in the world, to demonstrate the
fallacy of his agenda, the fallacy of his religion, to demonstrate the erroneous
beliefs of his followers and those who pursued his same evil ways. He was here for a little while to demonstrate
the resolve of those who were determined to fight and find him, as well as the
lack of resolve of those who did not want to get involved, and certainly to
demonstrate the bias of a very liberal minded news media.
Once
the pattern of these things has been established, as well as most probably the
completion of many other things, which God allows in history, then his time is
declared up. Boom!
It
has been, and it is the same, for all evil in the world. They all have a definite limit to their
activities in this world. Once that
allowed limit has been reached, then evil disappears from existence. That scum dude is now gone and he can bring
no more grief to anyone.
If
he never believed in Christ at any point in his life, then he is now suffering
beyond his imagination, and realizing that the promised virgins was a tantalizing
lie, which of course in his lust, he fell for.
Only Islam can define paradise with a slave class of females for the
exclusive use of the male population.
Only fools fall for that kind of philosophy.
It
is Gods aim and purpose to care for and protect those who belong to Him, and to
destroy all enemies who would do harm to His family, believers in Christ.
Hag.
2:22
22
'And I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the
kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots and their riders,
and the horses and their riders will go down, everyone by the sword of
another.' NASB
There
will be many people in Judah
and Jerusalem,
at the end of the Tribulation. Only
one-third of them will survive. All who
are unbelievers will die. All believers
who lack faith from failure to advance in their spiritual lives, by
compromising in various ways with the practices of this world, will die.
Only
those who are spiritually strong, those who have faith, and apply it through
the application of learned Bible doctrine, will be delivered. And that is the meaning in our verse.
Jerusalem is the city of peace.
Peace is rest. Rest comes from
advancing to spiritual maturity.
Advancing to spiritual maturity comes only through the daily study of
Bible doctrine, and its appropriate application to ones daily life. Thus, all who are properly obedient to Gods
will, through their daily study and daily life in doctrine, can fully expect Gods
help in time of need.
Wishes
and crying crocodile tears will not get you anywhere in the spiritual life, or
in your temporal life either for that matter. If you have lived a life of indifference
toward your spiritual life, then telling you that, Everything will be alright,
won t do you any good.
Only
those who demonstrate obedience to Gods commands, can reasonably expect His help
in their time of need. And in that, God
is completely reliable.
The
life and destiny of those who advance to spiritual maturity, is a phenomenal
one.
The
life and destiny of those who ignore God, will be a miserable one.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
