You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Zech. 12:6
6 In that
day [yowm] will I make [suwm] the
governors ['alluwph] of Judah [Yahuwdah] like an hearth [kiyowr] of
fire ['esh] among the wood [`ets], and like a torch [lappiyd]
of fire ['esh] in a sheaf [`amiyr]; and they shall devour ['akal] all the people [`am] round
about [cabiyb], on the right hand [yamiyn] and on the left [samo'wl]:
and Jerusalem [Yaruwshalaim] shall be inhabited
[yashab] again in her own place, even in
Jerusalem [Yaruwshalaim]. KJV-Interlinear
6 In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot
among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on
the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the
inhabitants of Jerusalem again dwell on their own sites in Jerusalem. NASB
Though
Judah and Jerusalem
are small when compared with the vast armies that are surrounding, and running
through them, both Judah and Jerusalem,
will be delivered. This deliverance is
both in principle as well as in their actual physical deliverance.
In
the Tribulation, no foreign army or power will hold onto, or rule, Israel. Israel is Gods chosen nation and territory.
God
obviously owns the entire universe, and geographic Israel is but a small meaningless plot
of ground in comparison. But, it is there
which is the setting of Gods promise, and of what man and Satan feel they need
to own in order to have their way. God
owns the universe and evil fights over a little plot of ground.
God
will make Judah and Jerusalem, a firepot, and
caldron, set inside the fire pit of evil s fire. The enemy is the huge fire surrounding the
region, however the steel of Gods power protects Jerusalem
and Judah.
Inside,
though the fire is hot outside the pot, Israel will pour out a relentless
and furious stream of firepower, like a person carrying a flamethrower and
blasting the dry wood lying all around.
The flames, the firepower of the Jewish defenders, are unstoppable, and the
wood, the enemy invaders, cannot prevent their own destruction, being openly
susceptible to the power of the fire.
This
will become a source of frustration and fear for the enemies that are entering
into the nation of Israel
and the region of Judah.
The
enemy will become obsessed with the destruction of Jerusalem.
They will become increasingly defeated at nearly every turn. The enemy s only advantage is in their
numbers, which just keep on coming against the Jewish defenders.
This
will turn to frustration, then anger and hate.
Then this attitude will turn to apprehension and nervousness, and
hesitation in actions. The enemy s poor
communications will lead to foolish decisions and uncoordinated and confused activity.
All
of this combined will begin to take its toll on the enemy, and when the
pre-second advent supernatural darkness in imposed on the entire earth, such
that no one will be able to see even the nose on their own face, then the enemy
forces will be so filled with terror, they will shoot at any sound in the darkness,
that they hear.
In
effect, they will be fighting amongst themselves and killing off their own
forces.
But,
for the moment, the lesson is that superior enemy numbers and firepower are not
enough to gain victory against Gods people.
Even outnumbered, God is able to bring a strong defense and victory to
those who belong to Him.
So
too, the lesson applies to each one of us.
It is most likely that none of us will be in this kind of predicament. The Tribulation will be a unique time in
human history. But, we all will face our
difficulties in life. Whether they be
employment or financial, social, marital, medical, or any difficulty you can
imagine in life, sooner or later in life you will come face to face with the
question, Will you trust God to get you through it?
And
by trust, I mean, to trust through the application of doctrine in your
soul. This is not the trust of someone
in trouble, who is just hoping that they get a little lucky. You have to learn doctrine before you can
apply it.
The
defenders of Jerusalem
will have some resources available to them.
They might have to use some ingenuity and imagination in their use, but
no matter. When everyone s life is on
the line, and when clear thinking prevails, then the ideas can come fast and
furious. They might even be a bit
bizarre, but if they work???
Vastly
outnumbered, and I emphasize this because that is the state of the world when
pitted against you as a believer. You
are outnumbered. So, at some point in
your life, you have to begin to realize that you indeed need someone greater
than yourself, to help you through life.
If
you don t, then your troubles will only get the better of you, and you will act
like the forces invading Jerusalem. You will get frustrated with life. You will get angry about life. The little things in life, the insignificant
things in life, will become far more important to you than they really should. And, the greater things in life will
overwhelm you emotionally.
Better
to get yourself on a safer path for dealing with life.
Cast
all of your cares on Him.
Stand
fast, and watch the deliverance of the Lord.
These
are not just cute little phrases to memorize, but they are very powerful
applications of faith.
Faith
is the most difficult concept to master on ones own. However, with Bible doctrine continually
entering into your soul, on a daily basis, and that is something that you have
to discipline yourself to accomplish, then mastery of faith, to the maximum,
will come to you, not through your effort, but by the power of God.
Then
you can t lose.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
