15 The voice [qowl] of rejoicing [rinnah] and salvation [yashuwah] is in the tabernacles [ohel] of the righteous [tsaddiyq] : the right hand [yamiyn] of the LORD [Yahovah] doeth [asah] valiantly [chayil] .
16 The right hand [yamiyn] of the LORD [Yahovah] is exalted [ramam] : the right hand [yamiyn] of the LORD [Yahovah] doeth [asah] valiantly [chayil] .
17 I shall not die [muwth] , but live [chayah] , and declare [caphar] the works [maaseh] of the LORD [Yahh] .
18 The LORD [Yahh] hath chastened [yacar] me sore [yacar] : but he hath not given me over [nathan] unto death [maveth] . KJV-Interlinear
Psa. 118:15-18
15 The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. 16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. 17 I shall not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD. 18 The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not given me over to death. NAS
There are but two possible destinies for each and every individual who has ever lived - heaven or hell. Those who believe in Christ will go to heaven. Their life, when they enter into their eternal state, will be filled with the shouting of joy. Those who reject Christ, in contrast, will have no joy though they will have a great deal of shouting, gnashing of teeth, and terror for their eternal existence.
Even in time, those who have believed in Christ have a new home and a new life into which they have been reborn. At the moment of their salvation each believer received a human spirit into which was placed eternal life. This human spirit allows for a relationship with God. Through this human spirit all spiritual information is channeled into the soul. From this spiritual information (learned through Bible study) a house is constructed, Prov. 24:3-4. This is a dwelling, a place from which one may reside in peace, in blessing (a contented and carefree life). Within this house (tent) we have fellowship with God. We often call this house, or tent, our Temple in the soul, our palace, our place of refuge, our mansion (a great and fine home of the very, very well to do).
The righteous (believers in Jesus Christ) are the only ones who have the potential of having such a dwelling constructed in their soul. One has to be positive toward Bible doctrine in order to want to study, then learn, then understand, then apply the doctrines of God in their life.
The right hand of God (the written Word) stretches out his hand and preserves and protects the individual believer who has been advancing in his spiritual life. The result of this protection from Gods control of history and each of our individual lives, is His glory, His exaltation, not ours. Man is nothing without God in his life.
Death does not come to the believer, because the believer has eternal life, therefore he cannot die (eternal separation from God). Of course we will have to endure our transition from this life to the next, but that should not be a problem to the believer who has Bible doctrine in his soul and therefore mature confidence and security regarding what follows physical death.
For a short time (our life here on earth) God has us endure the disciplines of life. The jungle around us which will level trial after trial against us. We will receive trials from our own thoughts, from other people, from bureaucracies, from disasters. These are the four great areas of life in which we will receive testing. Some of us will pass these tests. Most will fail. Most people will just not get with a consistent Bible study program in their life. And of those who do, there are many who will not be consistent in the application, of what they learn, to their daily lives.
But they all live through life, endure problem after problem, and just might note that God does not let them die. They all remain alive through their problems and even after their problems have faded away to be replaced by other problems, they are still alive.
Life is a trial of sorts. We live from birth to death and endure a wide variety of problems, some small, some overwhelming. But if you have noticed, you are still alive. God is patient. God gives you chance after chance to get with a solid Bible study program. Few come through. Why is that?
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
