Psalm 9:1

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

1 To the chief Musician [natsach] upon Muthlabben [Muwth ], [ben] A Psalm [mizmowr] of David. [David]

I will praise [yadah] thee, O LORD, [Yahovah] with my whole heart; [leb] I will shew forth [caphar] all thy marvellous works. [pala'] KJV-Interlinear

1 For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Thy wonders. NASB

Psalm 9 introduces a thanksgiving song praising God for the defeat of foreign enemies, and for the benefit of which the beneficiaries of Gods justice receive, because of Gods judgments in righteousness.

The muthlabben is a stringed instrument mentioned in Psa. 46, of which is played by virgins, however, the word means 'death of a son,' or more precisely the 'mystery of the death of a son.'

Therefore this psalm comes to mean the thanksgiving for the mystery of a son, the music of which is born out of a virgin, and subsequently dies, resulting in the application of the righteous justice of God.

The music is the praise for the benefit of the gift received by one who gives of himself for the freedom of all.

The mystery is the plan of God, of which no one can match or compare. The plan is of course for the freedom and redemption of humanity through the son who dies.

Righteousness when combined with justice equates with Gods holiness. Holiness when combined with Gods love results in Gods grace, and it is that policy of God, toward humanity, and more specifically believers, who benefit for all of eternity.

The events spelled out in this psalm, are in the past tense, looking back toward history from the future, as though history has already been completed. Therefore at the end of history, all of these things will be accomplished. They are certain.

The heart is a reference to the symbolic function of the circulation of doctrine within and throughout ones soul.

Thus praise or appreciation or honor or recognition comes from the whole soul of one who commits themselves to their spiritual life, the learning of doctrine, the steady and consistent growth toward spiritual maturity, which is the plan of God for the individual believers life, for the purpose of gaining the goal of Gods plan as stated in Psalm 1, many blessings.

To show forth, is to approach God through doctrine proactively, and not in a passive, or indifferent, or haphazard way.

A do nothing person, a person who always has an excuse, a person who has their own way of doing things, a person who is too busy, is a loser in life, and especially in their spiritual life.

Because of all of Gods marvelous works, means stunning, amazing, spectacular, and so forth.

From the very moment of your birth a very serious matter was begun. You can live your life as historical filler and accomplish nothing in your life, or you can recognize the fact that God has given you a phenomenal opportunity and you can seize that opportunity and prepare yourself for a life that will exceed your imagination.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
