8 The LORD
[Yahovah] shall judge [diyn] the
people: [`am] judge [shaphat] me, O LORD, [Yahovah]
according to my righteousness, [tsedeq] and
according to mine integrity [tom] that is in
me. KJV-Interlinear
8 The Lord
judges the peoples; Vindicate me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and my
integrity that is in me. NASB
Satan is the original accuser. He will accuse everyone of everything imaginable, regardless of whether it is a valid accusation or not.
However, there is one accusation against which Satan cannot hold true, and that is of salvation, and the work of Christ on the Cross which has paved the way for it.
When you initially believed in Christ, in that very instant, God imputed into you His righteousness and His justice. These were sealed by the Holy Spirit inside of you forever, and is your assurance of eternal security in your salvation.
No one is saved based on their own righteousness, for human works are rejected in salvation. Only Gods works are just and true.
And here David identifies that God is the judge of all peoples, and God differentiates between those who have His righteousness inside of them and those who do not. That is noted by Davids words, 'that is in me,' meaning something that was separate and apart from him, that is now inside of him.
Righteousness and integrity belong to God and to no one else. What you have in you as a believer is not your own integrity, for man is a sinful being, but your worth is based on Gods assets, given to you, and not on your own possessions.
As a human being, you were formed out of the dust of the earth, the chemicals of the earth. Man perpetuates his own kind through the reproductive process, but man only perpetuates the biological functions, not human life.
All human life comes from God. That is one of the reasons that we say, 'absent from the body,' when a person dies. The body does not leave, it remains and disintegrates back into the dust, but the human life leaves the body and goes to be with the Lord, or to the designated place (Torments) if an unbeliever.
But being only dust, then nothing you have from yourself, has any value. You are dust and you are worthless.
Your value comes from what you receive into yourself, namely Bible doctrine. First salvation and the human spirit that is regenerated in you as a result (born again), and then spiritual growth from doctrine you learn, and then finally spiritual production from the application of that doctrine to your daily life.
Salvation gains you eternal life. Doctrine gains you a structure inside of your soul. And, its application from the resultant growth gains you productivity which qualifies you for blessing in time and especially in eternity.
None of these things originate from you per se, but originate from God. All that you are and have is courtesy of God. All that is meaningful and of value in you, comes from God.
Therefore, any vindication of you as against the world, is based on Gods attributes in you.
