5 The
foolish [halal] shall not stand [yatsab] in
thy sight: [`ayin] thou hatest [sane'] all workers [pa`al] of
iniquity. ['aven] KJV-Interlinear
5 The
boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity.
NASB
The foolish, 'halal,' refers to all who oppose God, oppose truth, and prefer lies and are therefore delusional.
All sin is folly. All sin is the product of the wicked, the proud (arrogant), the insolent, the unjust, transgressors, deriders, the self righteous.
Sin is the environment that exists outside of the functioning spiritual life. You do not have to be sinning perpetually, you just have to be out of fellowship and therefore functioning under the influence of the sin nature, which is in us all.
People who are in fellowship, (acquired by confession - sometimes called the filling of the spirit), live inside the fellowship sphere, and are under the control of the Holy Spirit (not the sin nature). This is not a state that is detectable by human means. Therefore there is no emotional connection or sensuous connection, or even an overt reaction to being in fellowship. The spiritual life is separate and apart, and beyond the human senses.
All people who live their life out of fellowship, are by default sinners, carnal, out of fellowship, and are therefore classified as foolish. This includes all unbelievers (they have no spiritual life whatsoever), and all believers who do not make a practice of confession on a regular basis.
All unbelievers are therefore by default wicked. All believers who live out of fellowship, imitate unbelievers, as far as their carnal pattern of life goes, and are also classified as wicked.
Wise people, are saved through faith, and thereafter confess regularly (none of us are perfect), and advance in their spiritual growth through study and application of doctrine to their daily life, are on a path that will lead to the completion of their life.
People who do not advance in their spiritual life, and therefore do not advance toward the completion of their life, are fools.
This life and all that is in this world are temporary at their very best. The spiritual life not only fulfills your life now, but aligns you for reward and a phenomenal eternal life. It would be like choosing between poverty and trillionaire status. Which would you choose? The fool chooses poverty.
And not only does the fool choose poverty (which means ending up with nothing), but they work diligently and intensely at getting nothing. Thus, the fool.
The worst of fools is the unbeliever, for they have only the Lake of Fire for a destiny. The next worst, is the believer who disregards their spiritual life and its blessings. For though they still go to heaven, they lose out on their rewards in heaven (additional rewards due to a failed spiritual life).
Neither stand before God.
The unbeliever has no relationship and therefore has no place before God.
The believer who is out of fellowship, does not stand before God, because fellowship is the proper venue for standing before and addressing God, from within the fellowship sphere.
The spiritual life functions only (in all of its aspects - prayer, learning, growth, production, etc.), only from within the fellowship sphere.
If you are a believer, and do not understand the fellowship aspects of the Christian life, then you need to look up the special studies on that subject. Those studies are located in the Library online on the main Bible study website. An in-depth study is also available in the 1, 2, 3rd John studies.
Hate from God is a term that uses human emotions to describe a policy of God, against evil in all forms.
God is perfect. God can have no relationship with evil in any form. God does not have any relationship with evil in any form. That includes you when you live your life out of fellowship. You are not better (functionally) than any unbeliever, when you are out of fellowship. Your spiritual life does not function, your spiritual growth is on hold, every aspect about your relationship with God is off line, so to speak.
All workers of iniquity, refers to all people who are out of sync with God. Unbelievers for certain, and believers whose lives are not functioning spiritually.
Far too many folks believe that they can define their own spiritual relationship with God, and that is not possible. God alone defines the terms of relationship, never you.
