Proverbs 13:21-22
21 Evil [ra] pursueth [radaph] sinners [chatta]: but to the righteous [tsaddiyq] good [towb] shall be repayed [shalam]. 22 A good [towb] man leaveth an inheritance [nachal] to his children's [ben] children [ben]: and the wealth [chayil] of the sinner [chata] is laid up [tsaphan] for the just [tsaddiyq]. KJV-Interlinear 21 Adversity pursues sinners, But the righteous will be rewarded with prosperity. 22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. NASB
There are only two environments in which you can live your life. By the way have you noticed the many pairs of things in this universe? Light, dark, right wrong, good, evil, fellowship, and the jungle and so forth.
Well, we have another pair of which you should already be familiar. Fellowship is the sphere, or environment, in which all spiritual phenomena occurs. I'll repeat that. Fellowship is the only sphere in which all spiritual phenomena occurs.
Being out of fellowship or living in the jungle, or living in the world as it were, is where all wickedness occurs.
Wickedness is the production of evil, while good is the production of the spiritual life from within the sphere of fellowship.
The only production from the jungle life is wickedness. Wickedness if tantamount to accomplishing nothing. Anything done or accomplished in the jungle environment (in the carnal environment), in the out of fellowship environment, amounts to accomplishing nothing whatsoever.
The person who lives in the jungle is nothing more than historical filler. Not much of a legacy for ones life - a total waste of time. Look in the mirror and see if there is a big zero on your forehead.
Not only is the carnal believer the recipient of, and the target of, the jungle laws, the target of suffering from the natural causes of this world, the target of crime, evil, injury, aging, the target of financial loss, health loss, reputation, and so forth, but he is the target of Gods discipline and judgment as well. In short, everything in life is working against the carnal (out of fellowship believer). The unbeliever too.
The world is impotent to help anyone in any situation. The world has no power. The world is nothing more than the chemicals and physical components of existence. It has no consciousness, no mental or reasoning ability, nothing. The world is an empty vacuum into which Satan first, and then mankind, have poured their own imagined rules of existence.
God turns His back on those who reside in evil, therefore there is no one to help the residents of evil. So the life of anyone who lives out of fellowship, is one filled with adversity. And life will never get any better than that. For unbelievers it will only get worse in the Lake of Fire. For negative believers, life in eternity will be certainly better, but without the additional blessings which God has stored up for them that they will never see because of their failure to advance to spiritual maturity.
What awaits those who advance to spiritual maturity? Nothing but blessing, prosperity, happiness, and much, much more. How can on choose the other life over this one?
Not only does the spiritually mature believer (the righteous man, the good man), have a better life both now and in eternity, but he will receive his inheritance for generations to come. Are these his own biological children and grand children? No. This is a reference to his own continued existence forever and ever. His blessings will continue with him for generations because he will himself live for generations (for eternity).
We all have but one generation to grow up spiritually. That is our current life here on this planet. And having learned and accepted Gods counsel and having grown up spiritually, then that qualifies the believer for blessing forever. Forever means many, many generations into eternity.
Each individual must stand on his own two feet in life. So your children and your children's children have to live their life as unto God just as you do. They do have one advantage however, and that is their blessing by association with you - having been a descendant from you.
Whomever God chooses to bless, then anyone who associate themselves with that blessed person will benefit from that blessing. In the jungle there are laws of establishment. If you are wealthy and a mature believer, then those around you will obviously benefit from your generosity. Parents always want better for their children and grandchildren. So who gets spoiled here?
Likewise, as a mature believer, then your opinions and life will be heard or seen, and that can always lead to positive volition from the children. Any positive volition toward God becomes the target of direct blessing from God. So there is a double benefit in this life, for those who associate with you and who are also positive.
Families can reap great rewards in life when they are all positive toward God. The combined synergy of their spiritual lives multiplies their blessings. But too, remember that God has a plan for each individual. You probably will not become the richest family in the world, but God will bless the entire family in other ways. There are many forms of blessing. Whatever that blessing is for you, your life will be fulfilled.
Now for the negative believer who hustles, or is lazy, throughout their life. Whatever they accumulate in life will be ripped away from them at their death, and others on earth will take possession of it. And, in eternity, their advanced blessings will be withheld from them and redistributed to the mature believers.
' ...the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.'
In effect, negative believers are working their whole life to gain nothing for themselves, but to benefit others. In time, this is true as others will take their possessions when they die, and in eternity this is also true as they will loss their advanced blessings to mature believers. We studied this in the Parables of Christ study.
So, which group of folks would you prefer to be associated with? The spiritually mature crowd who receive a triple blessing in time and in eternity and in the redistribution process, or the negative and indifferent crowd who will receive a triple bummer in time and in eternity - hammered from the jungle, hammered from God, and eternal blessings withheld and given to others in eternity. Wouldn't you call a life like that a huge zero?
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
