Prov. 10:25-28
Lesson # Prov. 10:25-28
Study Material - Prov. 10:25-28
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Prov. 10:25-28
25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation. 26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy one to those who send him. 27 The fear of the LORD prolongs life, But the years of the wicked will be shortened. 28 The hope of the righteous is gladness, But the expectation of the wicked perishes.
Do we worry about the problems in the Middle East? No. I heard on the news today that Islam has followers amounting to 1/5th of the worlds population. And more then that, their median age is 14 years. That is pretty young for some 1.2 billion people. If that generation trends to violence and hate, and it will unless some very good sense is directed at their population, then that means certain big trouble in the next few decades and sooner. So do we worry about oil embargoes or more terrorism against our country? Do we worry about the growing anti-Semitic sentiment in Europe (excluding England)? No. We worry about nothing whatsoever. We prepare certainly as a country, but then we as individuals don't really have much say in foreign policy let alone our own national policies. We have to trust in God.
Jesus Christ controls history. No population will take over this world until the rapture. All wickedness is as the whirlwind as stated in this verse. A whirlwind is really nothing. It is wind and nothing more. It blows, it makes its noise, it brings its destruction to all that are exposed to it. But we are the foundation. We are below ground, silent, unseen and we survive when all the storm is over.
In the Christian life our contribution to history is simply trusting in God. All blessing comes to earth through mature believers. All blessings comes to others on this planet by means of the blessings for mature believers. Others are blessed by their association with mature believers. That association may simply be living on the same planet therefore they enjoy the air God gave us to breath. They enjoy the commerce that God allows for the benefit of mature believers, and so forth.
God is patient and merciful. He allows a lot of rope to run out for those who would be against Him. But sooner or later He snaps the rope tight and the wicked wind comes to a halt.
The messengers of wickedness or foolishness, as we have been calling it, are but irritants to everyone else. The smoke irritates the eyes such that one cannot see, the vinegar makes the teeth chatter in its rank taste, such that no good sensation can come from them. Even the smell is distorted. The senses are skewed. The foolishness of the wicked blinds them from the truth which they have voluntarily rejected. They cause their own destruction.
There is only one source for a full life - Bible doctrine. There is only one source for a happy and contented life - Bible doctrine. There is only one way to gain this doctrine - through a daily Bible study. No other means is available. Prolonged years means a full life. God does not prolong anything bad for the mature believer.
On the flip side of the coin, those who reject God will have their fulfilling years shortened. They will have their misery years lengthened. Their expectations or grandeur, of happiness, or prosperity will be dashed on the rocks. These things come to people freely through spiritual growth. But to those who reject spiritual growth these things they pursue will be elusive and never obtained.
The world is perhaps on the verge of a good shaking out. We have not had a good world war for 57 years (back to 1945). That is roughly two and the beginning of a third generation. When Bible doctrine is absent in society, then each succeeding generation becomes more degenerate. Sooner or later the volcano will blow and the whirlwinds will make their presence known, then they will be gone. But we as mature believers will survive and remain.
So whether you are concerned over the Middle East events, or your own employment situation, or your marital problems, or your medical problems, or whatever, then stick with your Bible study and you will survive whatever storm comes along in your life.
Sit back and enjoy the adventure. Let God do the driving and you'll watch the events of history unfold in a different light. Jesus Christ controls history. There is nothing to worry about in life, unless of course you get away from your Bible study.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
