Prov. 7:24-27
Lesson # Prov. 7:24-27
Study Material - Prov. 7:24-27
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Prov. 7:24-27
24 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, And pay attention to the words of my mouth. 25 Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths. 26 For many are the victims she has cast down, And numerous are all her slain. 27 Her house is the way to Sheol, Descending to the chambers of death.
Good advice is that which can change or even secure your life, and direct you on a safe course of action for whatever you do in life. Good advice gives you information with which you can make good decisions after thoughtful weighing of all your options. Good advice gives you an indication as to the repercussions of your decisions and actions, such that, if you know the results, then you could make the correct decisions in the first place that would lead you to the best possible conclusion.
Bible doctrine is that good advice. But you can't use it unless you 'listen'. You can't use it unless you pay attention to its message. If you get upset in life, for whatever reason and react to your emotions, and thus begin rejecting Bible doctrine, then you only hurt yourself. You are certainly not going to hurt anyone else with your decision to stop listening to good advice.
Therefore, 'listen', and 'pay attention'. And to what? Listen and pay attention to the Bible teaching from the instructor whomever that may be. If you are reading or hearing this read to you, then obviously you are getting your study information from this internet study. But you may also get your study material or instruction from the radio, from TV, from Sunday church attendance, from your Bible study group meetings in one of your members homes, or just from reading the Bible on your own. Wherever you get your doctrine, then listen to the words and ponder them. Learn and grow up spiritually. By the way, studying the Bible on your own is not a good choice. We all need to be taught, and taught for many years, by others who have gone over the same ground before us. To try to learn the principles and concepts that the Bible teaches, on ones own is not impossible, but is very difficult. You could go a long time before you figure anything out, and that is a waste of time, especially when there are others out there in the world who can save you a lot of time and grief, just by your listening to them initially in your study.
Don't let your heart stray into the path of a negative attitude toward God, and for certain, do not let your attitude stray into the path that leads to sin in the carnal sense. You have two choices in life with respect to which way yo will travel in life. You will either choose to study your Bible daily and consistently for the rest of your life, and learn, and remain in fellowship, and grow up spiritually to spiritual maturity, or you won't.
God does know ahead of time what decisions you will make throughout your life. He does not cause you to make those decisions, but He does know and as known since eternity past, everything that you will think and do. So you cannot hide your thoughts, motives, desires, decisions, and actions from God.
To stray away from God makes you a victim of your own negative attitude, makes you a victim of your sin nature. You may think that you are a good person, and you very well probably are. But being a good person doesn't cut it with God. Your life is influenced by everything that you are exposed to in life. If Bible doctrine is not one of those things, or makes up a small portion of your mental attitude, morals, etc. Then your life will deteriorate and sooner or later you will reach your end, which is your death. Only then will you realize that you have totally wasted your life. That you could have had an even better life and especially an even better eternity in heaven.
By heeding this good advice and learning your Bible doctrine. By being patient in life and treating your Bible study as a long term commitment, rather than some quick rush to learn it all in a few short lessons, then you are beginning to become wise.
Actually I can give you the magic formula in a few short words:
Believe in Christ, remain in fellowship, study Bible doctrine, apply doctrine to your daily life.
There, that one line says it all and is the solution to all of your problems you will ever encounter. And, too, it will result in the greatest life that you could ever imagine in time and in eternity.
Your alternative is doom, misery, death. And for unbelievers, those who reject even Jesus Christ, then their destiny is eternal burning in the lake of fires of hell. Which, by the way, is not a smoke filled pool hall deep inside planet earth.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
