Leviticus 7:22-27
Lesson # Leviticus 7:22-27
Study Material - Leviticus 7:22-27
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Lev. 7:22-27
22 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 23 'Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'You shall not eat any fat from an ox, a sheep, or a goat. 24 'Also the fat of an animal which dies, and the fat of an animal torn by beasts, may be put to any other use, but you must certainly not eat it. 25 'For whoever eats the fat of the animal from which an offering by fire is offered to the LORD, even the person who eats shall be cut off from his people. 26 'And you are not to eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your dwellings. 27 'Any person who eats any blood, even that person shall be cut off from his people.'
Prohibitions are again expressed as to the sacrificial animals. Certain portions are not to be eaten. They have already been spelled out I these first seven chapters of Leviticus. The eating of other portions are allowed within the directions of the various sacrifices.
The sacrifices back in that time of history, were a sacred event. They taught scripture as the people knew it then. As now we have the complete scriptures in written form, we are to consume them (daily study) in the proper frame of mind (fellowship, positive attitude, desiring to learn, etc.).
Likewise we are to worship in the proper frame of mind - our attitude toward God, toward His word, toward the teaching that is made available to us by means of the scriptures. We are to be open minded, not negative, not antagonistic, not critical, but willing to learn, and desiring to learn. Desiring to learn with a passion.
Holy things are for Holy people. Holy people are those who are in fellowship. It is as simple as that. There is no special difference between ordinary and holy people. We all look the same, probably dress similarly, and so forth. A holy person is simply one who is in fellowship as defined by the scriptures. Often we are called the 'righteous'.
Long flowing black or scarlet robes do not make one more holy than another person in blue jeans. Clothing, diet (vegetarian vs. meat), status of ones birth, race, color, culture, education, degrees, titles, size of ones bank account, none of these have anything to do with ones spiritual status.
All spiritual things must be approached in a spiritual fashion. Thus the taboos, the thou shalt not's, the restrictions are not only for, in some aspects, diet or hygiene benefits, but their primary emphasis is for the continuation of spiritual teaching.
All spiritual things belong to God. Man cannot participate in the spiritual unless man follows the exact rules commanded by God. There is only one way of salvation, not two or three, but one way - through the teaching that is made available by the burnt offering - the Son of God becoming man (the seed of the woman) and voluntarily giving himself up to the sacrifice of the Cross. This was understood by people in Moses time and before.
Sacrifices were offered by Adam, by Abel, by Abraham, and so forth. Moses merely set into writing that which had been practiced for centuries prior.
If anyone approaches God in any manner other than the proper method of worship - that is out of fellowship, with another false philosophy, by means of some other imagination, by some modified version of scripture or distortion thereof, then that person is 'cut off'. That is to say, they do not function in the spiritual life. No fellowship, no spiritual growth. No study, no spiritual growth. No application of doctrine, no spiritual growth.
Disobedience to Gods commands yields no payment of spiritual wages. Only when we obey Gods commands, will we be in line for proper and legitimate blessing. God taps His foot waiting to bless us, but too many people are caught up in their own screw ball ideas of Christianity. They don't know doctrine because they do not study regularly.
If one is not interested, or merely gives a passing thought to God, then one does not study very often if at all. If one does not study a subject, then one cannot learn that subject. If there is no learning, there is no understanding. If no understanding, no wisdom. If none of this, then the strange ideas come out of left field with no foundation, no basis, no common sense. With no spiritual life than 'cut off' is the destiny - no growth, no faith, no maturity, no blessing, just a fog of self imposed deception, then a surprise discovery of a miserable life at the end of ones life.
The beasts are to be sacrificed properly, ie., in fellowship, with thanks, with the proper desire to learn. The restriction of taking a sacrifice into ones dwelling is a restriction of taking that which is spiritual into the carnal life. You cannot be a hell raiser during the week and then spiritual on Sunday's. You are fooling yourself. Do not pray to God asking for something that is a sin by its nature. Don't praise God in one breath and gossip against another in the next breath. Don't pray for criminal success. Don't pray for social success when lust is involved, and so forth. This list is endless.
Anyone who tries to commingle and define their life by means of Bible doctrine and the carnal world, mixed for their own convenience, will fail eventually.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
