Leviticus 6:24-30

Lesson # Leviticus 6:24-30
Study Material - Leviticus 6:24-30

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Lev. 6:24-30

24 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 25 'Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, 'This is the law of the sin offering: in the place where the burnt offering is slain the sin offering shall be slain before the LORD; it is most holy. 26 'The priest who offers it for sin shall eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the tent of meeting. 27 'Anyone who touches its flesh shall become consecrated; and when any of its blood splashes on a garment, in a holy place you shall wash what was splashed on. 28 'Also the earthenware vessel in which it was boiled shall be broken; and if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then it shall be scoured and rinsed in water. 29 'Every male among the priests may eat of it; it is most holy. 30 'But no sin offering of which any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place shall be eaten; it shall be burned with fire.

Here is the law concerning the sin offering. This is from the sacrifice of chapter four. The Bible skips the chapter three review for the moment, but will get back to it in chapter 7.

Recall from chapter four that the sin offering is for unknown sins in the life of the believer. This is an offering for believers only and has to do with restoration to fellowship do to unknown sins. Recall that chapter five is the offering for known sins in the life of the believer.

Once a person expresses faith in God the Son, Jesus Christ, then the issue of salvation is over. Once a person is saved he is always saved. You do not have to be saved over and over again. This is the principle of eternal security. Christ went to the Cross only once, therefore we need only believe once in our lifetime to be saved. Of course it is better to continue in ones spiritual life after salvation, but that means that the sin that enters into our life needs to be addressed. God judged the sins on the Cross, which paved the way for our getting out of the grip that sin and death had on each one of us.

But of course after we become saved, we are still alive here in this world. We still get up each morning, and go back to bed in the evening. In between we commit sins in varying degrees. Can't be helped, we are human. So this brings rise to our fellowship with God. God can have nothing to do with sin, so He requires of us to recognize and acknowledge our sins before Him in private prayer (confession listing the known sins - none of this feeling sorry for self stuff, no guilt expressions, no promises to never do it again kind of stuff, mans works or intentions are not acceptable nor included in Gods plan), wherein He will forgive us of those sins listed as well as any which we have forgotten or have not known about (no playing games here either), and then God restores us to fellowship. This is important too, because this fellowship status is our sphere of protection. Like a star ship with its shields up where no attacking force can pierce through its shields, so we have our fellowship spiritual shields up and we are under the protection and guidance of God from within this fellowship status.

The sin offering is to be offered at the same place, the alter, as the burnt offering. It is to be consumed within the confines of the courtyard before the Tabernacle. The blood of the sacrifice if splashed on the clothing is to be washed off. Any clay pots used in the boiling of the sacrifice are to be broken, or if bronze pots, then scoured and rinsed. These last points represent the cleansing of mans portion from the ritual. All of the sacrifice is from God. The clay is of man and that is rejected. The bronze represents the work of Christ and that cannot be duplicated or imitated.

Man can eat of the meat of the sacrifice, but in a holy place only. That is, the fellowship prayer is to be utilized in conformance with Gods will, not to be used as a cute excuse to get away with doing wrong things. Fellowship confession is not a license to sin, not a get out of trouble ticket, but is a means for recovery of fellowship with God so that your spiritual life can function properly. If you play games with God and use His mechanics of fellowship to do what you want then return to fellowship, in effect attempting to abuse its privilege, then you will be surprised sooner or later when discipline comes down on you. Likewise the blood that is collected and taken into the outer room for sprinkling, if it is splashed on the clothes, then they are to be washed. The blood belongs to Christ and refer to His work on the Cross. Man cannot wear the work of Christ, nor take credit for anything that he might perceive himself as doing, as being a part of the work of the Cross. There is nothing that we can do to add to the Cross. Not raining ones hands, not walking down an isle, not feeling sorry for ones sins, not any work of penance, nothing.

Our place in salvation is to believe only and that is all. Salvation is a gift from God, neither earned nor deserved by man. Likewise confession of sins is not a place of boasting, nor is it s place for receiving credit for making such confession. Confessions are private not public. Lest you feed the gossip network out there. You do not get any better fellowship status by publicly stating your sins, than when you confess them to God in the privacy of your thoughts. Actually public boasting probably will only give rise to more sins of arrogance, or approbation lust (look at me everyone), so your confession is undermined and therefore void from the get go. Nothing gained but the interference of ego.

The blood belongs to the work of Christ alone. Therefore what is not sprinkled is burned on the alter.

Yet another law for all of eternity - confession of sin for the purpose of fellowship. That is the environment where all believers should live their daily lives.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
