You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 21:4-6
4 As for me, is my complaint [siyach] to man ['adam]? and if it
were so, why should not my spirit [ruwach] be
troubled [qatsar]?
5 Mark [panah] me, and be
astonished [shamem], and lay [suwm] your hand [yad] upon your
mouth [peh].
6 Even when I remember [zakar] I am afraid [bahal], and
trembling [pallatsuwth] taketh hold on ['achaz] my flesh [basar]. KJV-Interlinear
4 'As for me, is my complaint to
man? And why should I not be impatient? 5 'Look at me, and be astonished, And put your
hand over your mouth. 6 'Even when I
remember, I am disturbed, And horror takes hold of my flesh. NASB
To complain to man, is to whistle in the wind. Before mankind, there is no fairness, no
honesty, no justice, and certainly no forgiveness. People hold grudges seemingly forever, and
they never forget your failures, constantly overlooking their own, of course.
With God, there is an equal footing for everyone. God treats everyone fairly. And even though we have a difficult time
seeing it, our lives are much better off in Gods hands, than under the control
of anyone else's, including our own.
The negative person will never be satisfied, will
never find contentment, because they hustle and hustle, and when their plans do
not pan out, they blame and blame.
The positive person, the one who is growing up
spiritually, will have his own impatience.
Knowing that Gods control of life is the better choice, but also knowing
that evil runs rampant throughout the world, then life is always messed up for
the most ridiculous reasons.
Rejection of God ruins life for everyone in the world,
and the spiritually positive believer knows this and gets frustrated because
everyone else doesn't seem to get it. If
only everyone else would wake up to their failures, then all would be better.
But there is another principle in this passage.
There are only two opinions in this universe - Gods,
and everyone else's.
Within the worlds opinions, are ridicule, blame,
criticism, fault, mockery, scorn, contempt, condescension, and on and on. The world lacks true empathy, and
compassion. And as we have seen in this
Book of Job, his friends are full of opinions and phony sympathy.
They expect something for themselves rather than
emotional support for Job. After all, it
is they, who traveled all this way to visit Job.
The spiritually positive and advancing person, learns
and possesses legitimate compassion.
When they see something awful, they pray or yearn for the one suffering.
And especially when the circumstances
are far beyond what anyone can do. The
positive person adopts a position of compassion rather than complaint.
Weak people cry out in complaint.
Strong people, strong people spiritually, look to God
and wait. Impatiently often times, but
they still wait.
Jobs situation should have launched his friends into a
devastating silence. They should have
been horrified and dumbstruck into silence.
But just as Job was not sympathized with, so too,
Jesus Christ was tortured beyond belief, and the masses did what?
People will often chide those who fall in life. People will offer their opinions when people
they don't like, resign from a position.
The media is like this, politicians are like this, celebrities are like
this, society in general is like this.
Kick them when they leave or are down. And to what purpose?
Critics, complainers, whiners, haters, are only out to
elevate and promote themselves. And when
you try to gain promotion through the abuse of someone else, then you do not
deserve and you are certainly not qualified for, your advancement.
Legitimate promotion or advancement in anything,
cannot be attained at the expense of someone else.
To try to advance yourself at the expense of your
derision of another, testifies to the lack of spiritual resources and truth in
your life. And you lack of spiritual
qualification for blessing.
Whether you use anger to make yourself
feel good, or gossip to justify yourself, or complaint to lay blame away from
yourself, or anything else, which follows the pattern of lacking spiritual
growth, all of these are all forms of self-advancement of some type. And, they gain you nothing in the long run.
You are in fact insulting God, for God
directs all details of life, and Gods plan is wise and just, and right.
When you see difficulty, or when you
experience difficulty in life, then your best course is to look to God for the
way out, rather than looking away from God.
God does not require human mechanisms to accomplish
His purposes. The battle is the Lords.
Let Him fight and you will win.
Take up the fight yourself through hate or criticism,
etc., and you'll lose miserably, you'll defeat yourself.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
