You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 20:22
22 In the fulness [male'] of his sufficiency [cepheq]
he shall be in straits [yatsar]: every hand [yad] of the wicked [`amel] shall
come [bow'] upon him. KJV-Interlinear
22 'In the fulness of his plenty
he will be cramped; The hand of everyone
who suffers will come against him. NASB
There are two parallel courses that you may take in
life. They are the carnal course and the spiritual course.
The carnal course includes all functions in life that
exclude the spiritual side of life. In
other words, this is the 'out of fellowship' pattern of life.
The spiritual course is one in which one pursues their
spiritual life, while in fellowship, while simultaneously living in this carnal
world.
The spiritual side of life comes complete with Gods
promises. With growth and maturity, then
the fears and worries of this world tend to fade away.
The carnal side of life comes with no guarantees. Regardless of ones physical or mental growth,
the fears, worries, insecurities, uncertainties, anxieties, and torments of the
world are always present.
And this is Zophar's point. Even though a person, a wicked person, has
advanced in this life, with wealth, talent, or whatever, their happiness will
never be achieved, because along with their success, worldly success, comes a
target on their head.
Accumulation results in worries and greater effort in
keeping those possessions. The rich
become a target. And their adversary is
not limited to the poor of the world, but their adversaries are the wicked of
the world.
The world has no shortage of wicked people.
There will be those who will gossip against you, in
order to destroy you. There will be
those who will conspire against you, in order to advance themselves. There will be those who will sue you, or set
you up for some kind of a fall. There
will be opportunists who will take advantage of you.
The attacks of the world, from the wicked of the
world, and against the wicked of the world, are numerous. Evil fighting evil becomes the game. And that is simply a jungle rule.
God often times uses the wicked to destroy the wicked.
But in our passage, the wicked have accumulated wealth
or success, by earthly definitions. That
success is not happiness, but instead will be accompanied with even greater
challenges and hardships. And those
challenges will test their ability to keep what they have.
Even if there are not so many actual attacks against
the wicked person, the mere presence of threats will be enough to worry them
right into the grave, so to speak.
Lack of truth results from arrogance. Arrogance results in greed and
selfishness. Greed results in a wide
variety of paranoia's and worries. Then there
is no limit to the imagination and conspiracies.
Trouble comes from within the mind as well as from the
world. So the security fences go up, the
liability insurance goes up, the paranoia, anxiety, suspicion, and separation
levels go up. Trust and love and
contentment plummets.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
