You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 15:29
29 He shall not be rich [`ashar], neither shall his substance [chayil] continue [quwm], neither
shall he prolong [natah] the perfection [minleh] thereof upon the earth ['erets]. KJV-Interlinear
29 'He will not become rich, nor
will his wealth endure; And his grain
will not bend down to the ground. NASB
Being rich carries a connotation of being loaded, well
off, having access to great wealth which generates enormous amounts of income
to re-invest, to spend, to enjoy, to do as one pleases.
Wealth implies possessions from which one can draw his
riches. Wealth comes from assets,
possessions, things which have earning power and generate income repeatedly
minute after minute, day after day, month after month, year after year, season
after season.
In this life, you can earn an income with the value of
your own personal labor, or through the earning power of things you may own. And, in this life, those are the only two
sources of riches available to you.
However when you place God into your life, then you
add one more method of wealth and riches to your arsenal, and that is through
the earning power of the spiritual life.
Your Bible study becomes your invested time, and doctrine and spiritual
growth become your possessions.
In this life, your worldly income and wealth are only
temporary at best. In the spiritual
life, they are eternal.
The words 'natah' and 'minleh' stand
for 'perfection' and something 'extended from,' or something extended to a
foreign destination. This means that the
wealth of this world will never generate enough income to match that which is
eternal, and likewise, the wealth and riches of this world will never extend
beyond the borders of this life, into the next life.
In others words, what you have in this life ends,
for you, when you die. And no matter how
long you live in this world, you will never come close to the riches and wealth
which God has waiting for you in heaven.
And one more thing, assuming that you even get into
heaven in the first place, you still have to demonstrate spiritual
responsibility in your spiritual growth, in order to receive that which God has
set aside for you for eternity. We have
already studied several parables which teach this principle. See the Parables of Christ study.
Faith in Christ gets you your heaven admission
ticket. Spiritual maturity, which comes
from spiritual growth and the correct application of doctrine to your daily
life, gets you your regular paycheck, reward voucher, dividend coupon, interest
notification, bonus notice, promotion, etc., etc., etc., and so forth, which
will come to you regularly and repeatedly forever, and ever, and ever into
eternity. That is better than any
retirement pension or inheritance you could have from this life.
In short, anything invested in this life, to the
exclusion of God, Christ, and doctrine means that you are investing in
something which is temporary, and you will lose it when you die.
However, if you invest in your daily Bible study, and
grow up spiritually, then you will be accumulating treasure of indescribable
value for all of eternity, and you will never lose it.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
