You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 15:24-25
24 Trouble [tsar] and anguish [matsuwqah] shall make him afraid [ba`ath]; they shall prevail [taqaph]
against him, as a king [melek] ready [`athiyd] to the battle [kiydowr].
25 For he stretcheth out [natah] his hand [yad] against God ['el], and strengtheneth [gabar]
himself against the Almighty [Shadday]. KJV-Interlinear
24 'Distress and anguish terrify
him, They overpower him like a king ready for the attack, 25 Because he has stretched out his hand
against God, And conducts himself arrogantly against the Almighty. NASB
Distress and anguish are all of the systems of
emotions, of fear, of anxiety, of insecurities, of paranoia's, of any emotion
or thought pattern, which places the person who is indifferent, or
antagonistic, or self righteous, or compromising, or full of pretense, against
God.
I am sure you can think of several more descriptive
terms to describe the spiritually deficient person.
No matter how strong we think we are, no matter how
many storms of life we have faced and survived, no matter how tough mentally or
physically we believe ourselves to be, there is one thing over which we cannot
win. That thing is our own
uncertainties, which will be inevitable the longer a person remains defiant, in
whatever form, toward God, Christ, and doctrine.
Young people think of themselves as invincible. Young people have many things on their mind -
their education, their social life, their hobbies, their personal interests,
their careers that they are certain will fall right in line with all of their
plans, hopes and dreams.
Then they become a little older and the realities of
life set in. The dreams, the hopes, the
plans become modified.
Then they become a little older. Survival becomes a little more important. Paying the bills, keeping ahead, or just
staying even, are more on the person's mind.
Or, successes continue to feed the idea that God is not really needed.
Then they become a little older, and older, and older.
Then one day, no matter how good or how bad your life
has been, you look back and wonder where all of that time went? Where is it going to? Have you done all of the right things? If you could just do a few things over, and
maybe a little differently? But God is still
not in your redefined life.
As the age increases, the realities of the finality of
your life become more real, and suddenly you get serious.
But instead of doctrine setting in, your fears take
the place of the foundation of your soul, and they overwhelm you.
Like a single individual, you, standing before an
attacking kings army, your fears, you have no chance of survival.
And this is all because you have placed a higher value
on your temporary life in this temporal world, than you have placed on your
spiritual life which is eternal. Because you have placed more interest in your
immediate and sensual desires and needs, above your eternal destiny.
As long as you are alive, you can change the course of
your life. All it takes is your positive
volition toward God and your daily Bible study.
Otherwise your life will end up like that described here. And your toughness, your intellect, your
talent, your standing before humanity, will all fall victim to your own
unstable emotions.
With no doctrine in the soul, you will have no
foundation, no support for life. You
have placed yourself in opposition with an uplifted defiant hand, against
God. You have presumed yourself more
wise, than these little simple words within the Bible.
On the other hand, with doctrine in the soul, there
isn't anything in all of creation that can touch you, for Christ is doctrine,
the written and living word, and Christ is greater than everything that exists.
But then, you already know that! Or do you?
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
