You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 15:22-23
22 He believeth ['aman] not that he
shall return [shuwb] out of darkness [choshek], and he is waited [tsaphah]
for of the sword [chereb].
23 He wandereth abroad [nadad] for bread [lechem], saying,
Where is it? he knoweth [yada`] that the day [yowm] of darkness [choshek] is
ready [kuwn] at his hand [yad]. KJV-Interlinear
22 'He does not believe that he
will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword. 23 'He wanders about for food, saying, 'Where
is it?' He knows that a day of darkness
is at hand. NASB
The wicked person is anyone who is negative toward
God, Christ, and Bible doctrine. The
wicked person is anyone who is persistently out of fellowship. The wicked includes anyone who has not believed
in Christ and therefore is not saved.
All unbelievers in other words.
The wicked includes any believer, anyone who has
believed in Christ, but maintains a rather indifferent attitude toward their
spiritual life. The wicked includes any
believer who compromises, redefines, modifies, or substitutes the legitimate
teachings of the Word of God, with their own convenient or distorted ideas.
The wicked is aware of the principles we have studied
these last few days, the shortness of life, the limitations of life, the ever-present
noise, distractions, enticements of the jungle environment, and so forth, and
they are well aware of their own disregard of the sound principles of life
presented by the Bible.
The wicked constantly pursue many things, which they
know are wrong, for their own entertainment, for their lusts, for their
selfishness, for their greed, for their hate, for their revenge, for their
jealousy, for all of their carnal drives.
And they pursue these things because they are weak in
the knowledge of truth. And they are weak in he knowledge of truth because they
do not care. They do not take truth
seriously. They do no accept the
realities of life.
That is until God places some very real realities into
their life, and those usually come with great pain, great suffering, great
fear, great loss, and most assuredly with great insecurities.
'Brave men die but once.' Have you ever heard this quote? All others die a thousand deaths. Those deaths are from the daily insecurities,
which bring paranoia's, fears, insecurities and so forth, into the lives of
those who don't take God, Christ, doctrine, and their spiritual life seriously.
The ultimate reality is death. Things can't get much more serious than that,
so far as this life is concerned.
So here Eliphaz calls it right.
The wicked has no security in life. He is aware of the dark side of life, but
pursues it anyway. He is aware of the
permanence of death and the hereafter, but ignores it. He is aware that living the lifestyle of the
wicked, no matter how tame, no matter how evil, will lead to an ultimate
failure in life.
The wicked pursues happiness by means of evil, rather
than by means of truth. The wicked looks
for the easy way, the shortcut, the path of passive entertainment. The wicked lives the ultimate life of
procrastination with regard to their spiritual life. The wicked lives in constant fear, in
constant insecurity.
Even when he laughs, his happiness is brief and
without substance.
Where is the food?
Where are the things in life, which fulfill life? They are nowhere to be found. Lies cannot lead anyone to treasure. The wicked order from an empty menu. The wicked purchase treasure maps made for
fools.
The wicked know that their life will end one day, but
then, why bother with all of that depressing Bible stuff now?
Now is for living.
Life is too short
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
