You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 15:12-13
12 Why doth thine heart [leb] carry thee away [laqach]? and what do
thy eyes [`ayin] wink at [razam],
13 That thou turnest [shuwb] thy spirit [ruwach] against
God ['el], and lettest such words [millah] go out [yatsa'] of thy
mouth [peh]?
KJV-Interlinear
12 'Why does your heart carry you
away? And why do your eyes flash, 13 That you should turn your spirit against
God, And allow such words to go out of your mouth? NASB
Eliphaz suggests that Job has turned his heart away
from God. And though this is not true,
though Job has voiced some complaints because of his affliction, he has not
once condemned God, or as Satan had hoped, Job has not cursed God.
Eliphaz's only basis for this attitude, which he
perceives in Job, is that Job does not agree with Eliphaz and the other two
friends.
However, this does point out a truth with respect to
people who do not subscribe to God, to Christ, and to Bible doctrine. Any unbeliever, and any negative believer for
that matter, does pursue an anti-God pattern in their life.
There are only two attitudes possible in
existence. First is that which is
consistent with the legitimate teachings of Word of God, which is our Bible. And the second is everything else.
Even though philosophies may be divided up into four
general categories, namely Christianity, all other religions or non-religions,
cults, and the occult, there is only one truth, and everything else is a modification
of the truth making them lies, or outright lies.
Psa. 73:9
9 They have set their mouth against the heavens, And
their tongue parades through the earth.
NASB
But no matter what a person thinks, if his thinking
pattern lacks consistency with Gods Word, then that person is functioning in
opposition to God.
The mouth can only voice the thoughts, which are
resident in the mind. You cannot think
things, or conjure up beliefs, which you do not know or possess.
God is truth, and if you oppose God, then you
obviously oppose truth.
Eliphaz knows a great deal of truth, or at least the
concepts of truth. His only problem is in
matching them correctly with the facts of reality. Eliphaz is a little rigid, and therefore
subjective in his thinking.
One of the great advantages and characteristics of
knowing truth, can be found in your being more tolerant, more forgiving, more
courteous, more relaxed, and certainly less critical toward others. The mature believer does not have to prove
himself, ever.
People who do not subscribe to truth are more
agitated, more inordinately competitive, more frantic, and certainly less
secure. They have to prove themselves
over and over again.
Just because Job will have some harsh words to say
concerning various subjects in life, if he is consistent with Gods opinion,
then he is not in opposition toward God.
Too often in a debate, people will take offense when
you are not politically correct. Too
often people will bring up your flaws or failures when arguing with you. These are merely crutches of the weak.
Truth stands on its own and needs no support or
propping up. Weakness cannot stand on
its own and needs to weave less then original accusations in order to win an
argument.
Lies 'wink' at or flirt with everything which is not
truth.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
