You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 15:4
4 Yea, thou castest off [parar] fear [yir'ah], and
restrainest [gara`] prayer [siychah] before [paniym] God ['el]. KJV-Interlinear
4 'Indeed, you do away with
reverence, And hinder meditation before God. NASB
Eliphaz charges Job with disrespect and lack of proper
worship toward God. Of course, Eliphaz
implies that since Job has not agreed with his, Eliphaz's, opinions, then that
is the basis for Jobs disrespect toward God.
We have read several of Jobs comments, and Job has
demonstrated nothing but the deepest of respect and awe for God. Job has even launched quite a teaching
lecture regarding the spiritual realm.
Job was said to have been wise, a source of wisdom and
advice, and quite the leader within his community. It should be clear that even under great
stress, he still functions as a great counselor.
However, because his wealth has vanished, his friends
have decided that his counsel is no longer valid.
Eliphaz charges disrespect and false worship. And
those two together lead to lack of fear of God.
And that is exactly what occurs within the mind of a negative person.
When a person lacks Bible doctrine in their soul, then
they lack truth in their soul. Lacking
truth then leads them to disorientation to life and reality. They lose fear of what is real, and they gain
multiple fears for what is not real.
The one whom we should all fear, is God, for He
controls all of reality. The many
sources where negative people develop their fears, the world, are not valid
fears since the world controls virtually nothing. However, lacking truth in the soul, means
that the content of the soul is the opposite of truth, or lies. So the doctrinally na ve person lives in the
fog of disorientation.
Eliphaz makes the charges against Job, but it is he
himself that is guilty of his own charges.
A person can only speak the words and ideas and
beliefs he knows.
There are two sources of knowledge. God is the source of truth and everything
else is the source of lies. Everything
else, that is, that is in opposition to Gods Word.
If you know only one language, then you can only
articulate in that language. You cannot
communicate or think in another language, one in which you have no knowledge.
And so it is with Bible doctrine. You must know doctrine in order to think
within its realm. And since Bible
doctrine is of the spiritual realm, then you must maintain your spiritual link
in order to properly apply its spiritual value to life.
Satan knows the Bible forwards and backwards, and
better than either you or I, but Satan lacks the spiritual resources to possess
that knowledge. His application is
always flawed.
Any unbeliever can know Bible information, but lacking
the spiritual resources, its spiritual value is not available to them. Likewise the negative believer may have Bible
knowledge in their heads, but living out of fellowship, they cannot apply it
properly to their life, or to reality.
Eliphaz accuses Job of having the vocabulary, but not
the right to use it. Eliphaz accuses Job
of misapplication of his facts. And
actually, Eliphaz accuses Job of making comments that are irrelevant to their
discussion. And in making his
accusations, he is only revealing his lack of spiritual content and describing
himself.
Respect for God comes with learning about God. Worship toward God is the function of valid
Bible doctrine within your soul.
Worship includes prayer, study, learning, using, pondering,
applying, in short functioning within the fellowship sphere moment by moment,
day by day, throughout your life.
So long as you are in fellowship and pursuing a
consistent pattern of daily study and so forth, then you can have a headache,
be digging ditches, inventing rockets, or changing diapers, and be functioning
fully within the worship concept.
Worship is not exclusively prayer only. Worship is the pattern of thought within your
mind, and includes everything you do day or night, awake or asleep, so long a
you maintain your life in fellowship with God.
You might want to review our study in 1, 2, and 3rd John.
God defines spiritual function, and the individual
person either accepts and adopts it, or he does not. Eliphaz has no right to judge Jobs attitude
or function toward God.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
