You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 14:20-22
20 Thou prevailest [taqaph] for ever [netsach] against
him, and he passeth [halak]: thou changest [shanah] his countenance [paniym],
and sendest him away [shalach].
21 His sons [ben] come to honour
[kabad], and he knoweth [yada`] it not; and they are brought low [tsa`ar], but he perceiveth [biyn]
it not of them.
22 But his flesh [basar] upon him shall have pain [ka'ab], and his soul [nephesh]
within him shall mourn ['abal]. KJV-Interlinear
20 'Thou dost forever overpower
him and he departs; Thou dost change his
appearance and send him away. 21 'His
sons achieve honor, but he does not know it;
Or they become insignificant, but he does not perceive it. 22 'But his body pains him, And he mourns only
for himself.' NASB
As much as mythology and movies sensationalize
contests between gods and man, portraying man as an underdog and God as
vulnerable, the reality of truth is, that there is no contest between man and
God. Not even close.
God is infinite in every possible way imaginable and
more. Man has so many restrictions, that
no list could contain them all.
Can man prevail against death? No. If
man could live forever under the terms of this world, he would never catch up
with God. Never!
Even if mans rapid advances in technology in recent
decades was to continue for a thousand years, and a thousand more beyond that,
and forever beyond that, man would never catch up with God.
Man cannot even prevent his appearance changes as he
grows up and grows old. Look at your baby pictures and your teenage pictures,
and any other pictures you have throughout your life. If you are old, you will definitely see
changes.
What was once cute and adorable, eventually becomes
old and wrinkled. No pill, no vitamin,
no surgery can prevent aging.
And once you die, your participation in the activities
of this world, cease. Your friends and
neighbors, your family, your children, will continue their lives, but you will
not be a participant in their lives.
Much to the dismay of certain religions that believe
that there are those to whom you can pray, those other than God that is, man,
in death, is not a legitimate target of prayer or any form of communication.
What can man do from the grave?
One of the major changes in appearance of a person,
occurs at the moment of death. Can the
dead speak? Can the dead hear? Can the dead respond to your emotions? No.
Once dead, all life leaves the body, all life vacates
the body, all responses cease in the body.
The body becomes motionless and immediately begins a process of rapid
decay. If those who remain alive do not
do something rather quickly, regarding the disposition of the body, then some
very unpleasant results will soon manifest themselves.
Without God, Christ, and doctrine in ones life, death
does not transfer ones life into a hereafter bar with booze, women, and jokes,
but rather transfers one to a place of perpetual pain, misery, and suffering
beyond imagination, and there the dead have only themselves, in their isolated
aloneness, to ponder and mourn their own ruin.
Better to have God in your life and enjoy perpetual
happiness forever, than to be stuck in perpetual misery all by yourself forever.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
