You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 14:18-19
18 And surely ['uwlam] the
mountain [har] falling [naphal] cometh to nought [nabel],
and the rock [tsuwr] is removed [`athaq] out of his place [maqowm].
19 The waters [mayim] wear [shachaq] the stones ['eben]: thou
washest away [shataph] the things which grow [caphiyach] out of the dust [`aphar] of
the earth ['erets]; and thou destroyest ['abad] the hope [tiqvah] of man ['enowsh]. KJV-Interlinear
18 'But the falling mountain
crumbles away, And the rock moves from its place; 19 Water wears away stones, Its torrents wash
away the dust of the earth; So Thou dost
destroy man's hope. NASB
We pursue our spiritual life, which begins with our
initial belief in Christ, for our spiritual life begins with our salvation, and
then is enhanced by our continued pursuit of spiritual growth toward maturity,
by means of our daily Bible study and application of what we learn to our daily
life.
And when we do this, then we have confidence that God
will one day call us home for a far better life in heaven and in eternity.
The alternative is in our study for today. Just as the mountains and rocks waste away
due to the continued wear and tear of daily weather, so too, anyone who places
their faith in this worldly life, will see their hope waste away as they grow
old.
Little by little, the world wears out. The rains and the wind, the continued
pounding of ocean waves, earthquakes and volcanoes and just the very nature of
this planet have demonstrated that what were once great geological features,
perhaps thousands of yeas ago, have deteriorated by erosion into the sands and
dust that we have today.
Dust is the foundation of the human body in this
world.
People place themselves in high esteem and honor, but
they really are honoring nothing more than dust.
Magnificent cathedrals, bridges, towering skyscrapers,
toys for kids and adults alike, our cars, our clothes, nearly everything we
have in life, originated from the fundamental resources of the planet. Place them all in a fire, crush them all
under a great weight, and they return to the elements from whence they came.
We can take the dust of the earth and manufacture
phenomenal and beautiful things, from computers to huge buildings. And so it is with humanity. God has taken common dust and made man in all
of his forms from shapely blue-eyed blondes, to plain Joe's and Jane's.
So, we can look around and see the future of dust,
which is us, by watching the deterioration of rocks or mountains. They erode away never to return to their
former state. A rock wears under the
repetition of pounding rain and wind.
Once great rocks over time, become sand and dust.
There is only one hope, and that comes from God,
Christ, and doctrine.
There is only one truth, and that comes from God,
Christ, and doctrine.
There is only one reality, and that comes from God,
Christ, and doctrine.
There is only one future, and that comes from God,
Christ, and doctrine.
Everything else is nothing more than useless worn out
dust.
There are only two places where man can direct his
hope. He can look to the common dust of
the world, or he can look to God.
With every breath you take, with every beat of your
heart, with every thought you think, you establish your pattern of life, which
reflects your choice between those two - dust or God.
In eternity past, God bagged up your life. Now as time passes by, you are documenting
the content of your own bag with your every thought, motivation, decision, and
action in your life.
What exactly are you putting into your very own bag?
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
