You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 12:14
14 Behold, he breaketh down [harac], and it cannot be built again [banah]: he shutteth up [cagar] a
man ['iysh], and there can be no opening [pathach]. KJV-Interlinear
14 'Behold, He tears down, and it
cannot be rebuilt; He imprisons a man,
and there can be no release. NASB
God can do things that man cannot. God can create out of nothing. Man has to have something in order to make
something else. God can destroy into
total non-existence. Man cannot destroy
an atom, or the smallest particle of matter.
Man can reshape things of course, but man has to work
within the boundaries of physics, which God defined. Man did not design the laws of physics. Man cannot even change those laws, or alter
them, or redefine them.
Throughout the course of history God has brought into
existence, or allowed to come into existence, empires, and nations, and of all
the empires and nations which existed in the distant past, how many are still
here? None of them.
The Assyrian Empire is long gone. The Babylonian Empire is long gone. Sodom and Gomorrah disappeared into the
depths of the Dead Sea. Pompeii was
destroyed. Even the Roman Empire
crumbled.
History is full of peoples and cultures that have
disappeared permanently from history.
And were it not for the discovery of some of their ruins, we would never
know that they existed. I would venture
to guess that history has actually swallowed up folks that we have never
discovered, and don't even know of their existence.
None of these past civilizations can be brought back
into existence. Even the current effort
of radical Islamists who want to bring back the culture of the seventh century,
will fail. They are still trying to
resurrect their twelfth Imam. They will
probably get their wish in the Tribulation.
But they won't like what they get.
And such is mans other endeavors to do his own will
rather than Gods Will. Some pursue
philosophies, some pursue religions, some pursue technology, some pursue, well,
anything and everything imaginable. And
none of these will ever attain their objectives.
God can shut up, or imprison a person, and this means
death specifically, but in general it means that God can bring such
difficulties onto a person, that they can never in an infinite number of life
times, extricate themselves out of their predicament.
Death is a good example however. In all of history, with all of the wizards,
sorcerers, or even modern medical technology, man has never been able to defeat
the death barrier.
Death is a change, a removal, and extraction of the
human soul out from the human body.
Humanity cannot even define human life.
All people can do is raise a ruckus over what they believe is life or
when they believe it begins. But most of
that is emotion driven not fact driven.
And even with emotions as their basis, people will go
to great extremes to defend their beliefs.
That is the typical logic and function of the spiritually deficient
soul.
In short, God is supreme. Man is not.
God can do whatever, whenever.
Man has to function within the rules, which God defined. Man cannot define the rules of his own
existence.
Man will go to great lengths to oppose all that God
has decreed, but to no avail. Man is in
effect, helpless and his own stubborn arrogance is all that prevents him from
escaping his own cluelessness.
There is no contending with the divine providence, nor
breaking the measures of it. Only
through application of a daily study of the scriptures, can a person
synchronize his life with Gods will.
Apart from that, one might as well try flying blind, without even
instruments, in a thick fog for all of his life, and see what it gets you.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
