You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Job 11:20
20 But the eyes [`ayin] of the
wicked [rasha`] shall fail [kalah], and they shall not escape ['abad] [manowc], and their hope [tiqvah] shall be as the giving up [mappach] of the ghost [nephesh]. KJV-Interlinear
20 'But the eyes of the wicked
will fail, And there will be no escape for them; And their hope is to breathe their last.' NASB
This final verse of chapter eleven gives us two
principles of doctrine. The first is
obvious. Evil people fail in every respect. And the second principle which is not so
obvious, is that opinionated people will criticize you irrespective of the
facts, but they will none the less use principles of truth in their arguments
against you, because they are convenient.
The second principle is applied here by Zophar. He ignores the facts because he has an
overriding opinion with which he has already condemned Job.
Job has done nothing wrong, but in Zophar's mind, Job
is making scriptural statements, which are inconsistent with his current
situation.
Often times people, out of hate, or jealousy, or
anger, will throw your words right back in your face. 'You had better listen to your own
words.' 'You don't practice what you preach.' 'You don't follow your own advice, you
hypocrite.'
And when someone is arguing with you, then they will
stop at nothing in order to win their argument.
Truth is never the issue, their winning and putting you down, is.
Zophar has known Job for a very long time. Eliphaz has said it in so many words, that
Job was a very honest and well thought of man.
But all three of the friends threw Jobs reputation out the window when
they saw his suffering, assuming that his life was a lie, that they had been
fooled, that Job was misleading everyone.
Therefore, in their minds, God has revealed to the
general public, because Jobs suffering was now a very public event, that Job
was in fact evil, and this suffering was Gods revelation of his true nature.
People who may know many principles of doctrine, but
lack in their spiritual growth, will jump to conclusions, conclusions which
support their own subjective beliefs.
Academic knowledge of the scriptures, is not the same
as spiritual possession of those principles of life.
Academic knowledge, no matter what it is, is no better
than ones subjective approach to truth.
Academic knowledge takes facts and manufactures its own truth.
In today's world, evolution, global warming,
homosexuality, abortion, war, and nearly every topic you can think of, have
been twisted into beliefs that completely and intentionally avoid the realities
of truth. Beliefs that are twisted for
the convenience of political gain, for prejudicial advantage, for emotional ego,
for social ostracism, and so forth.
As for the first principle, the destiny of the wicked
is failure and extreme loss. Anyone who
ignores God in their life, anyone who is indifferent toward their spiritual
life, anyone who prefers the 'seen' opportunities offered by this world over
those unseen opportunities offered by the spiritual life, then their life will
result in failure.
What you see around you is people being born, living
and dying. This is a temporary world,
and nothing better than temporary is available in it. We are trapped in this world and from it we
cannot escape. No matter what you want
to believe, no matter how many vitamins you take, no matter how many cosmetic
surgeries you have, no matter how much you exercise, no matter how often you
sit in a corner and hum or chant yourself to a higher plane, your life, in this
life, will never get any better than temporary.
The person who pursues religion, philosophies, or
their own invented beliefs, is negative toward God, Christ, and doctrine. That person will never have anything
permanent in this life. Their plans, their ambitions, their hopes will never be realized and their
life will, in every case, end in disappointment, frustration, and misery.
Many successful but negative people will never admit
this in public, but in the privacy of their own soul, God sees their sad
failure.
Spiritually impotent people, do not see their own
flaws, but they see the flaws of others and they take those errors of others to
issue, in public. They won't hesitate to embarrass their victims before
strangers, friends, family, even before their own children, because it serves
their egotistic purpose to win their argument no matter what the cost, no
matter what the truth.
Spiritually advancing people recognize their own flaws
and they take them in private before God.
There is no need for public involvement in ones private spiritual life.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
