Job 5:14

14 They meet [pagash] with darkness [choshek] in the daytime [yowmam], and grope [mashash] in the noonday [tsohar] as in the night [layil]. KJV-Interlinear

14 'By day they meet with darkness, And grope at noon as in the night. NASB

To function in your life in the light, means that you can see life, see reality, see the facts as they really are, and you can discern right from wrong, truth from the lie.

To function in the darkness or in the fog, means that you cannot discern where you are, what life is, you cannot match up fact with reality, and thus you travel within the environment of your own imaginations. You travel blind. You live within the lies of your own beliefs, which are detached from truth, and manufactured out of that which you cannot see.

So within your own soul you live in darkness. You grope along in life, just as a person out walking in a pitch-black night, gropes along feeling their way inch-by-inch, step by step. Never knowing where they have come from, not knowing where they are going.

Deut. 28:29

29 and you shall grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed continually, with none to save you. NASB

Isa. 59:10

10 We grope along the wall like blind men, We grope like those who have no eyes; We stumble at midday as in the twilight, Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men. NASB

John 9:39

39 And Jesus said, 'For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see; and that those who see may become blind.' NASB

The scripture of Job, the words of Eliphaz, predated the books written by Moses by a thousand years, predated Isaiah by yet another seven hundred years, and predated John by yet another eight-hundred or nine hundred years after that.

No other religion has withstood the test of time in consistency, originality, in truth, in uniformity, in certainty, in accuracy, in anything.

The Quran, which supposedly was spoken by Muhammad, while in a trance probably induced by Satan, in its entirety over a period of twenty-three years, and recorded by others, not even that written work is original, nor even consistent within its own text. A masterpiece of Satan's to be sure, because it has misled billions for several centuries, since the seventh century A.D. The Quran, states that it is the third and final writing correcting the Law of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus, of which those too were revelations from God, Q 3:3.

But if those were Gods revelations and they were corrupted, then isn't the god of Islam a false god? How is it that he has to do something three times in order to get it right?

And yet the Bible, which is one comprehensive set of writings, has never wavered in its subject and teachings. How is it that no one knew of the Quran prior to the early 600's A.D., and yet Eliphaz is quoting doctrine to Job, doctrines of the Bible, which have not even been recorded in writing until a thousand years later? How did Eliphaz know these doctrines?

Gods word has been known since the time of Adam, and was handed down from one generation to the next by word of mouth, consistently and without loss of content, and finally documented in writing over the course of sixteen hundred years from the time of Moses at about 1500 B.C. to the last book of the Bible, written in 96 A.D.

How could Eliphaz have known that those who are without doctrine, live in darkness, and grope along as one crawling along in total darkness?

While living in a time that most folks associate with cavemen, and grunts and fire discovery and such, how could Eliphaz have been so educated? Perhaps the caveman, and fire discovery, and grunts, and such things were not a part of human history following the creation of Adam. Perhaps?

The God of the Bible does not find Himself redoing His written works, while other religions seem to write things and then rewrite them, and then manufacture a cafeteria of interpretations as to what they all mean, so that everyone has a choice to please them.

Verse 14 is a continuation of yesterday's study of the wise and the cunning. Everything that man does outside of the written truth of Bible doctrine, is like living in total darkness. Everyone who lives their life outside of the fellowship sphere, lives in darkness, in obscurity. Review our study of fellowship in 1, 2, and 3 John.

This darkness is a judicial blindness. Reject truth and you have only lies remaining. Reject truth and God will not allow you to see truth through the efforts of your own eyes. Only through the efforts of God, who is truth, can you discern it. Anyone who tries to see God, to see truth, to be like the Most High in effect, is imitating Satan's thought pattern.

Only the Bible is the original, consistent, and uncontaminated source of truth.

Other writings, such as the Quran, are Satanically plagiarized copies of portions of the Bible, later bastardized with long lists of traditional sayings accumulated over the recent centuries, containing empty promises of seven heavens, thousands of servants, and the pleasure of virgins in Paradise. Even Satan is incapable of a single innovative original thought. The only way he can get followers is to entice them with the pleasures of sin and lusts, which is a path to the dark side. Hummm, where did that last bit come from?
