You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Isa. 66:7-9
7 Before she travailed [chuwl], she brought forth [yalad];
before her pain [chebel] came [bow'], she was delivered [malat]
of a man child [zakar].
8 Who hath heard [shama`] such a thing? who hath seen [ra'ah] such things? Shall the earth ['erets] be made to bring forth [chuwl] in one ['echad] day [yowm]? or shall a nation [gowy]
be born [yalad] at once [pa`am]? for as soon as [gam] Zion [Tsiyown] travailed [chuwl], she
brought forth [yalad] her children [ben].
9 Shall I bring to the birth [shabar], and not cause to bring forth [yalad]? saith ['amar] the LORD [Yahovah]: shall I ['aniy] cause to
bring forth [yalad], and shut [`atsar] the womb? saith ['amar] thy
God ['elohiym]. KJV-Interlinear
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain
came, she gave birth to a boy. 8 Who
has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one
day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her
sons. 9 Shall I bring to the point of
birth, and not give delivery? says the LORD. Or shall I who gives delivery
shut the womb? says your God. NASB
Who
has ever heard of a birth before labor has begun? Who has ever heard of a son being born where
there is no plan or pain in raising him up?
The
word for travail is chuwl, which is exactly what it appears to be, namely the
labor pains of a woman about to give birth.
But the word for pain, chebel is a reference to a rope twisted for
strength, a rope used in measuring something, a plan by which a son is brought
into this world for the sole purpose of completing that plan.
That
plan was measured out in eternity past.
It was laid out in minute detail.
A plan that when given to a contractor, complete with all materials and
labor, moves ahead to complete the project.
From
our own perspective, from the worlds point of view, can anything occur
instantly? Can plants, crops, trees and
such things, grow up to their full maturity in one day? Can a nation be born in an instant, into its
fullness of existence, complete with its constitution, laws, court systems,
road systems, and all of the details that go into the making of a nation?
And
of course the answer to that is no.
Anything
of value takes time. Trees do not grow
up in a day. Nations do not spring up in
the blink of an eye. Your life has to run its course, and Gods plan has a set
time table as well.
In
eternity past, God created the angels.
He created them all at once. They
did not begin with one angel and then have baby angels. They all came into existence at the very same
moment.
Even
though the angels were now created and lived in perfect harmony, God knew that
there would come a time when problems, a confrontation would occur. God created the universe. The angels were witness to His awesome
power. Even as smart as the angels are,
far smarter than any human being, they had to have been impressed.
That
did not last long. Lucifer rebelled, and
was followed by all of the angels. Some
followed in defiance, most followed in uncertainty. One-third of the angels remained against God,
while the other two-thirds turned back to God.
A
judgment had to occur. God controls the
universe, and that is ruled by truth.
There can be no place for truth and lies to exist side by side. Someone had to go. Lucifer, now Satan, finds himself on the
losing end of that conflict.
But
Satan and his followers are not yet in the Lake of Fire. They appealed. What gives you, O God, the right?
Now
the history of humanity comes onto the scene to determine that answer and
demonstrate Gods right and sovereignty.
From
the time of Adam to our current year, just over 6000 years have passed.
We
do not know how much longer our Church Age is scheduled to last, but at some
point, our era will come to an end, with the Rapture. Then the Tribulation will be the resumption
of the Age of Israel. It has seven more
years to go.
Near
the end of that time, the Tribulation, the world will be in total chaos. Death and destruction will be occurring at a
furious pace, as humanity will be on the brink of annihilating itself into
extinction.
There
will be a remnant of folks who will be holding onto the promises of God, that
He indeed will be coming back to save them.
Uncertainty will no doubt enter
into their minds, given their dire circumstances.
So
now Isaiah assures them that God will not go through all of this history just
to stop at the last moment. Just as a
woman who is about to give birth, cannot jump up out of bed and change her
mind, thus resetting the clock as though the pregnancy had never occurred, so
God will not turn His back and let humanity become extinct.
No
nation comes into being in an instant.
The ultimate nation of God takes all of human history to bring it into
existence.
Life
was not created for no reason. The
universe was not created for no reason.
Humanity was not created for no reason.
You were not created for no reason.
Christ
did not go to the Cross for no reason.
There
is a plan, Gods plan. It encompasses all
of history and is extremely detailed.
God did not begin all of this, just to stop arbitrarily, or quit.
God
created you. At the moment of your
birth, God created a soul, a vessel, a container, and imputed human life into that
soul and put it into your itty-bitty baby body.
He did not do that arbitrarily, nor randomly, nor spontaneously. He included you in His divine plan in
eternity past, and now here you are.
God
has a plan for your life. That plan is
not arbitrary, not dependent of chance or luck.
God has a specific plan for your life.
You of course, can function in His plan perfectly through obedience to
His mandates, that is growing up spiritually, or you can go your own way, and
throw your life away.
But
no matter what your circumstances are in life, no matter whether you are a
quadriplegic or a rock star, so long as you are alive and breathing, God still
has a plan for you. A very good plan. And that plan is not dependent on who you
are, not dependent on what your abilities are, not dependent on the
circumstances of your life.
All
that is required of you is to be positive toward God and toward doctrine, and
God will do all the rest.
To
do things in life on your own will give you guaranteed failure. To pursue you spiritual life and allow God to
guide you through life will give you guaranteed success.
Now
for one last thought. Isaiah mentions
the birth of a son. This has two
implications. The first is the birth of
Christ. The second is your birth.
In
ancient times, when a family had children born to them, the birth of a son was
celebrated more than the birth of a daughter.
The son meant the perpetuation of the family name and so forth. Male children were always valued more than
the females.
Using
that concept, you are a child of God when you believed in Christ. But not just a child, you are looked upon as
a first born male child. Through your
faith, there is great celebration.
Through your re-birth, you become heir with Christ, just as a son
historically is treated as the sole heir of his parents estate.
So
through this analogy, you are extremely important in Gods plan. You are not here accidentally, nor are you
here as an oversight, nor are you intended to be here just as filler for
history. Although a lot of people make themselves into historical filler by
their very dis-interest in the one true God and His Word.
Your
very existence elevates your position, far above that which the angels cannot
even imagine.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
