You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Isa. 66:6
6 A voice [qowl] of noise [sha'own] from the city [`iyr], a
voice [qowl] from the temple [heykal], a voice [qowl] of the LORD
[Yahovah] that rendereth [shalam] recompence [gamuwl] to his
enemies ['oyeb]. KJV-Interlinear
6 A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple,
The voice of the LORD who is rendering recompense to His enemies. NASB
In
this chapter, Isaiah has made it very clear that God owns the universe. There
is nothing that man can do for God.
Those who pursue their own path to God will find themselves in a world
of hurt.
Both
their arrogance in determining what is true, when no man has lived for all of
eternity, eternity past that is, and their interpretation of life in general,
are flawed. So, mans views into the past
are limited to his analysis of scientific data, and his interpretation of that
data. When man lacks doctrine in the
soul, then mans lacks orientation to truth and therefore to life, and therefore
his interpretations of facts in life will be skewed and his conclusions will be
in error.
So,
theories like evolution and the big bang come along. And, since they have been around for such a
long time, people begin to think of them not as theories, but fact. This same principle of mis-interpretation
applies to things like life-style living, and political beliefs, religions and
so forth. When these things have been
around for several generations, then they are accepted more readily. In effect, people are offering sacrifices of
ox s and dogs. Classic un-truth s in
which God does not delight.
The
result of all of this? People are
miserable and their lives eventually fail miserably. Their pursuit of happiness evolves into a
frantic search for happiness, and they never find it.
All
the while Bible doctrine is available to people, allowing them the opportunity
to see truth, to discern life, and to orient to everything that is going on
around them. But what do people
generally do with respect to the Bible?
They ignore it.
Therefore,
God says, Tremble!
Then,
life goes on. Hours pass, and days pass,
and years pass, and centuries pass, and even millennia pass, and where is God?
Then
our verse jumps right out at you just as Isaiah intended. A voice, an uproar, a rumble, a tumult, an
upheaval, a roar or noise and sound as with that which would accompany an all
out battle in war.
This
verse jumped out changing the pace of the context. The tempo sped up to a
tremendous pace, as horses standing still in the starting gate and then
suddenly the gates open and they are off.
So
too, we studied this concept in Revelation 1.
Jesus Christ controls history and His hand in on the lever of history,
His arm flexed, muscles bulging to the breaking point, ready to shift the next
increment of history into gear.
This
is our verse.
When it comes time for a change, when it
comes time for action, then God move quickly with a blistering speed that only
He can accomplish.
Pandemonium
will erupt on planet earth. But it
won t be a celebration. From Jerusalem, from the Temple
itself, the Lord will roar throughout the planet and judge with a violence so
great, that chaos and confusion and terror will be the only possible reactions
that people will be able to do. There won t be any more time for thinking. That time has expired. People have had all of history to think, to
consider, to decide what is right and what is wrong from within their own
minds.
Just
as suddenly as this verse came along, even more quickly, God will come onto the
scene in history, at the Second Advent and life as everyone has known it, will
cease.
This
is true with regard to the Second Advent, but it is also true with regard to
your life as well.
You
have time to figure out your priorities in life. God gives you all of the information required
for you to make the right decisions. God
is very patient. Your life s activities,
the world s contemporary history, everything that is going on around you, that
might affect you directly or indirectly or not at all, are all irrelevant.
There
are only two important questions in your life. The first is for unbelievers
only, What do you think of Christ? To
believe means being saved and heaven. To
reject means the Lake
of Fire.
The
second question once you have been saved is, What do you think of Bible
doctrine? To pursue it on a daily
basis, means advancing to spiritual maturity and phenomenal blessings. To ignore it, disregard it, or to try
modifying it to your own satisfaction, means spiritual immaturity and
tremendous loss of blessing.
You
may think that you have all of the time in the world to fool around with your
life But you don t.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
