You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Isa. 65:1
1 I am sought [darash] of them
that asked [sha'al] not [lo'] for me; I am found [matsa']
of them that sought [baqash] me not [lo']: I said ['amar], Behold me,
behold me, unto a nation [gowy] that was not
called [qara'] by my name [shem]. KJV-Interlinear
1 I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask
for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said,
'Here am I, here am I,' To a nation which did not call on My name. NASB
In
this chapter, Isaiah describes and contrasts those who had access to God, but
did not see the value in what He had to offer, verses those who did not have
such direct access to God and yet sought after, all that God has to offer.
This
initial contrast is between the Jews and the Gentiles. But, you can make a broader application of
this principle in comparing all peoples who are capable of hearing the Word of
God, and yet many ignore or reject it, verses those who hear and pursue it.
Isaiah
then wraps up the chapter with a few descriptions of life in the Millennium,
when Christ s rule will replace mans rule.
For
thousands of years, man has ruled the planet. We studied in Revelation 17, the
seven empires of mans rule. These
empires exclude our dispensation, our Church Age, or the Age of the Royal
Family.
Our
dispensation is one in which we have no contact with God through visions or
dreams or even direct conversation. Ours
is one in which we have only the written word of God, the completed scriptures. All of the other dispensations have direct
contact with God through conversation, dreams and visions.
In
the ages before ours, God was rejected to the point of the Cross. Those people had tremendous advantages with
regard to their access to God. They
received information directly from God, or His angels.
Our
dispensation, which technically began in 30 A.D., at the Feast of Pentecost,
really did not get its full transition until 96 A.D., when John completed the
writing of the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible. Then, from that time on, our access to God
has been restricted to the written word.
We have no other means of access to God.
The
Jews had their chance. They had direct
access to God, yet they rejected Him.
Instead of accepting His word, they tried to re-write it to their own
standards. Judaism is the religion,
which rose up out of their negative ashes.
Ashes, which we have already studied, is the burning of the Temple, their Temple
of faith, which should have been constructed within their individual souls. But, their negative attitude in effect
destroyed their own spiritual life, bringing them as a people, great suffering
throughout the course of history.
Even
though their actions and attitude are historical, their pattern of thought and
attitude apply to every generation in history.
It applies to you, if you are not much interested in the Word of God, or
if you have a better idea of how life should be lived as opposed to that which
the Bible teaches.
The
Jewish people had Gods direct ear for many centuries. They turned Him
down.
You
have access to God during your lifetime.
What will be your attitude?
Some
folks think that the events in the Middle East
are Prophetic, but they are not. Ours is
a dispensation of the raising up of the Royal Family. Ours is a dispensation of the formation of, or
the preparation of, the nations for the last and final years of their
rule. Ours is a dispensation of
historical trends.
During
our dispensation, evil will raise up its head and try to take control of
history. That is the case in the world
today. Islam is one of the worst
religions in history. However, evil s
time is not until the Tribulation, it is not meant to rule in our
dispensation. God prevents evil when it
tries to go back to the empire days, but those days have past, and there is but
one empire remaining. That is the revived Rome,
which will come into existence until immediately after the Rapture.
Our
dispensation is run by God the Holy Spirit. Our dispensation is one of trends
in history whereby nations will rise and fall, and people will spread out
across the world inhabiting it all. Our
dispensation is one of an increase of human knowledge, and simultaneously an
increase in the understanding of Gods wisdom.
Our
dispensation is one in which God is not directly connected with life, and yet
God is still able to control history.
Our dispensation is one in which the gentiles, to whom God did not call,
but of whom gentiles and all peoples of the world sought after and found God,
through only His written word. Without
dreams, without visions, without direct conversation with God, ours is a
dispensation of positive volition to the one we have never seen nor heard.
Some
require proof. That is a sad state. What
proof do you have that we breathe air?
Can you see it? And yet, we all
accept it as fact. What proof do you
have that the sun will rise again tomorrow?
And yet, we all accept it without question. What proof do you have that you will be alive
next week? And yet, we all presume that
we will be here. What proof do you have
that radio waves will bring music and news to your radio? And yet we all accept these things of
technology. What proof do you have that
your ways are better than that offered by God?
And yet, you, who have been on this earth for maybe just a few decades,
presume that you know better.
As
this chapter develops, we will see that those who accept God into their lives,
and pursue their spiritual lives, will reap huge rewards both in this life, but
especially in eternity.
Those
who reject God, will discover that they are, or have been the biggest fools
ever. They will not reap rewards but great
disappointment.
We
all have the opportunity to seek out and find God for our lives. Through the written word of God, through the
Bible, God calls to each one of us, and yet few respond because they allow
their arrogance to get in their way.
Arrogance is the foundation of all rejection of God.
The
Old Testament is a history of this action and reaction toward God. It is a pattern of attitude, which we can all
learn from, through our study of the scriptures. We should of course learn from, and avoid
their mistakes.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
