You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Isa. 64:12
12 Wilt thou refrain ['aphaq] thyself for these things, O LORD [Yahovah]? wilt thou hold thy peace [chashah], and afflict [`anah] us
very sore [ma`od]? KJV-Interlinear
12 Wilt Thou restrain Thyself at these things, O LORD? Wilt
Thou keep silent and afflict us beyond measure? NASB
Given
the status of the world, given the state of human indifference, given the
cruelties and hardships that humanity places on his own kind, will God simply
drop back out of our solar system and leave us to our own devices?
Is
there any reason why God should keep on caring for humanity? Is there any reason why God should keep on
caring for you?
Isaiah
has laid out the circumstances that existed back when Judah was going
to be overrun by the Chaldeans. Those are the very same circumstances that will
exist when the world will be trying to overrun the last remnant of believers in
the Tribulation. These are the very same
set of circumstances, which exist in every generation throughout history.
There
will be the bulk of the world that rejects Christ, rejects doctrine, and
rejects Gods divine plan. The Temple is burned down, and the cities of Judah are
vacant of people.
This
is a picture of the lack of valid spiritual lives within the population. Any rejection of God, of Christ, of doctrine
is in effect an attack against God, an attempt to destroy and eliminate God and
Christ, and doctrine from existence.
Whether
it is simple indifference, or out right antagonism against the Bible makes no
difference. Anti-God is anti-God. Any opposition to God and His Word means that
you are attempting to replace His truth with your own, whatever that might be.
And,
people who reject Gods truth in exchange for their own ideas, are the epitome of
arrogance since we do not know all that there is to know about this universe.
We
do not have the ancient Temple
built by Solomon, but we still have its burning and destruction by means of
negative attitude toward God.
In
summary, human history is a phenomenal failure.
Except for the grace of God, people would not have any means out of
their predicament. That predicament
being namely, their inability to extend their own life after death, in some
meaningful way.
We
all know of birth and death. We all know
that there is something after this life.
But what?
If
humanity s existence is nothing more than a simple accident of nature, then
there is nothing more to do about it all.
You are simply screwed when your end comes. But, what if, just what if evolution is not
true?
What
if there really is a God, then do we not have some interest in finding out something
about Him and His plan?
If
God designed the universe, then did He not design a plan for humanity? And if for humanity, then why not for each one
of us? And if there is a plan, wouldn t
He share it with us?
Through
the Bible, we know that God elected the divine decrees, the plan for all of
history. He then created the angels and
they were a happy lot. He then created
the universe and that certainly must have impressed the angels, but they still
revolted and in doing so, messed up the universe.
We
know that the earth was created with the universe. We know that there was time when dinosaurs
existed and they became extinct. We know
that the angels who followed Satan were judged to the Lake of Fire,
but they are not yet there. We know that
God restored the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. This all according to the Bible.
So,
given all of this, isn t it logical to conclude that there is a plan of some
kind?
Human
history is divided up into dispensations.
A Savior was promised, the Cross occurred, the Church Age is now
occurring. There will be a time when the
Rapture will occur, and the Tribulation will conclude mans rule on this earth. Then there will be a Millennium period when
Christ will rule, and after that human history will conclude ad eternity will
begin.
Isn t
this a plan?
So,
God has a plan. God has given us
promises. God knows that despite all of
humanities failures, there will be a few who will take Him up on His promises,
and believe in His savior, His Son, Jesus Christ, and believe in His word and
advance in their spiritual lives.

But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels NASB
Isa.

For I will not contend forever, Neither will I always be angry; For the spirit
would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made. NASB
God
has given us phenomenal promises and this is the answer to Isaiah s question in
this last verse of the chapter.
No,
God will not punish humanity indefinitely.
But neither will God allow humanity to continue in history
indefinitely. God has a plan, and just
as it had a beginning, just as you had a birth, so Gods plan has a termination,
as you will have a death.
God
will not bring humanity through all of its history just to do nothing in the end. God does not bring you all the way through
your life just to do nothing.
You
can make your life much easier by giving yourself over to God, pleasing God,
and letting Him deal with life s problems.
Or, you can go on and ignore God, and stumble your way through the
jungle and of course please Satan, to no end, and become nothing more than
historical filler.
History
gives us many examples of disasters when thousands die, even tens of thousands
die. In the news, they are nothing more
than a hodge-podge of faceless and nameless numbers. Is that what you want for yourself? To be nothing more than a historical
statistic, a nothing, a loser?
If
so, then continue thinking that you know all there is to know, or you know
enough to get by, or that you don t even want to know anything more in life,
and you will certainly be filler for history.
But,
if you believe that there must be something more out there in life. If you look around and believe that life
gives us all examples of how we can be or could be. If you look around and see vast poverty and
you see examples of vast wealth, and for some strange reason, you want something
better than you have, then perhaps all of this God and Bible stuff might just
be of some help.
What
do you have to gain by ignoring the Bible?
Nothing.
What
do you have to gain by trying the Bible?
Everything.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
