Isa. 63:16
16 Doubtless [kiy] thou art our
father ['ab], though Abraham ['Abraham] be ignorant [lo'] [yada`] of us, and Israel
[Yisra'el] acknowledge [nakar] us not: thou, O LORD [Yahovah], art our father ['ab], our
redeemer [ga'al]; thy name [shem] is from everlasting [`owlam].
KJV-Interlinear
16 For Thou art our Father, though Abraham does not know us,
And Israel
does not recognize us. Thou, O LORD, art our Father, Our Redeemer from of old
is Thy name. NASB
The
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are one.
They are both God. The Father is
the recipient of all prayer, and the Lord is the one who executes all details
in history in accordance with the divine plan which was decreed by the Father.
The
remnant, who will be delivered in the Tribulation, will recognize the persons
as well as the role of each of the three members of the Trinity. We have already seen the reference to the
Holy Spirit.
Even
though Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob lived many thousands of years ago, and do not
even know this last generation, they all worship the very same God. They all worship the Father, who is the
ultimate deity and the target of many of the religions of the world.
But,
here we have a very significant distinction.
The redeemer who set out the plan for redemption is the Father, but the
actual redeemer, who accomplished redemption for humanity, is the Son, the Lord
Jesus Christ.
The
flaw of all religion is that they try to approach a deity, or some higher
power, through their own efforts, or by means of some approach designed by man.
Christianity
is not a religion but a relationship, wherein we approach God, the Father,
through the work of Christ.
This
delivered group will start out in the Tribulation as unbelievers. All people who remain alive on this earth
when the Tribulation begins, will be unbelievers. In seven years time, this small group of
people will go from their unbelieving state, to mature believers in Christ,
with very strong faith. This despite all
of the difficulties, that we have already seen, that will inundate the world.
They
not only have a thorough knowledge of doctrine, but they definitely know the
role of each member of the Trinity, and their own place in history. This remnant knows of the history of the Jewish
people. They know of the history and the
claims that former Jewish people laid on their heritage from the time of
Abraham.
But,
that heritage is rejected. Their
salvation does not come from their ancestry, but from the one true God, Jesus
Christ. And, they further make the
distinction between the role of the Father, and of the Son, and they make one
more distinction the Father and the Son are one. A statement made by Christ a long time ago
and for which He was condemned to the Cross.
This
remnant of people who will be delivered in the Tribulation, know their
doctrine. They will not be a hodge-podge
of people who just happen to get lucky in being at the right place at the right
time. Quite the contrary. Anyone in Judah
and Jerusalem
will be right in the cross hairs of the greatest and most massive killing field
in all of human history.
Surviving
that onslaught will be nothing short of Gods work.
The
God of the Tribulation, is the same God that we have today, is the same God
that Abraham had in his day. There is
only one God and Father. There is only
one Son, and Savior, Jesus Christ. There
is only one sphere of power, which is through the Holy Spirit.
And,
this last generation of people, who come to believe in Christ, and who will
advance in their spiritual lives, will understand all of this.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
